Apparently this is gonna be his "final" instrumentall tape (I guess since they're only compulations anyway that makes sense). Just happy to have an instrumental version of "Hell" now.

Master P has been perpetually shaking his head at every label in the rap game for years now.

That No Limit blow up period is the fucking bible and blueprint for how to capitalize and monetize "hype".

I posted it yesterday and watched it slip into the ether. Now that you have posted it I fully expect it to be on at least 3 AOTY lists! I did listen to the whole thing yesterday and was not impressed with anything. Not sure why Mishka employs Supa, Zach was better, they fuck with Picture Plane and Hot Sugar.. Odd.

Love the Ugly Mane track and there's this track that samples a post-punk song with a slow building beat, the beats are great, the rapping not so much. Blue Sky Black Death's latest instrumental release is also pretty great.

I think I've come to the conclusion that Busta Rhymes' "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See" is probably my favorite music video of all time. Not just in terms of hip hop either. One of my favorite beats ever as well.

Whats your guys' favorite video of all time?

Also today I was listening to 4th Chamber by Wu and my friend pointed this out from Rza verse:

Protons Electrons Always Cause Explosions

Listened to the song a million times and I never noticed that.

Didn't Master P go bankrupt though?

His personal finances and the way he ran No Limit in it's prime are very different things.

After Ghetto D dropped, they were putting out an album every 2 weeks. The hype train was unstoppable. If Master P (who he was then) ran TDE now, we'd have a double album follow up to GKMC coming out this month, Oxymoron would be Q's second release since HnC and Ab-Soul would still have a career.

Yearly albums from them all, group albums, movies, soundtracks, compilation albums. Money. Q would weigh damn near 400lbs by now and Soulo would have drown in a swimming pool of ayahuasca.

but Cell Therapy...

Kendrick is Silkk da Shocker.

And like he did with no limit, everyone would get burnt out on the ridiculous volume of music that all sounded the same and stop giving a shit.

Master P deserves even more credit for managing to build such a hype train and make so much money from some if the worst hip hop ever made. That's the real genius, convincing people to spend money on a bunch of dudes who couldn't outrap a 10 year old.

It didn't help that cash money came along and showed them they could do the same thing but better. Better production, better videos, and vastly better rappers. Cash money's line up weren't exactly rap all stars but they could at least do the basics, stay on fucking beat and maintain a flow.

The problem was he signed too many hacks... the core on dope beats was good enough... but the fringe artist were horrible

No Limit was a pyramid scheme.

It printed money

That's what I'm saying. Like a pyramid scheme, he would sign bums or whatever and mine them for a hit, but the only dudes really caking were the ones at the top, and P was stacking cash on a different level than the others. Now, that's not particularly different or out of the ordinary for a rap label or music industry in general, but I feel like P dangled the record signing in front of way too many bums. No Limit is the Cutco of the rap game, and just like Cutco the product wasnt really great either.

I kinda like C Murder and Mystikal though.

Ayo how do I make a plug room or lock the booth?

EDIT: Or what is the GAF room?

Do it on thursday brah, that way I can join and generally more people come on that day.

I don't understand why Shy Glizzy got even the little buzz he got...But I'm surprised more people aren't talking about that Lil Bibby mixtape

You end up with more good material from the artist in their prime.

Curren$y get's it. I don't think holding back material benefits any emerging artist. Even vets get a lot out of it. Would it be bad to get 3 Nas albums next year?

The girlfriend brought a cd today for an hour long drive. I usually pick the music so I said yeah cool.

She brought that Linkin park jay z mashup album. Funny thing is I actually liked it.
