fuck, i had a whole bunch of AD friends over to marathon that fourth season....we made it halfway through & ran outta drinks when people quietly started going home. shit was depressing like the seinfeld finale in the day, i still haven't gone back to tie it up yet either.

Thats why Netflix is great. You can't lose. I hated TV before Netflix.

I fell off the Sons of Anarchy wagon a few months back when i started watching S4. Just lost interest. I guess I should give it another go, na?

also Dexter is a great 4 season show. I was told to stop and never watch S5, and it works great. No fucks given.

I find it hard to sit down and watch anything for any extended period of time outside sports events and fighting game streams - I guess you could say I can only watch competitive events. Only time I can get into a TV show is if there's an extended period of time where I'm feeling depressed/lazy and just want to vegetate in bed. I think the only shows I've watched to completion are: Seinfeld, Breaking Bad, & Arrested Development.

I also tend to take notes on the things I watch, so that makes me even more selective about what I get into.

this is exactly the perfect point to stop, i'm talking end-Kenshin-with-the-kyoto-arc perfect and whoever told you that is a good friend. i wish i had that warning, or someone to say "hey irish, stop 24 around season 4, Battlestar Galactica before the finale, and you can just bail on the pilot to Lost...have a good one"

The problem with the fourth season is that
even though there are a few plot differences in each episode (since each episode revolves around a certain character), you're basically watching the same episode over and over again and it's get old really quick
. I was excited for the Arrested Development movie before the fourth season, now...I just don't want it to happen

I think Netflix not giving them time constraints fucked the show over- some eps were way too long and indulgent with some jokes. Could have been so much tighter.

Breaking Bad and Boardwalk Empire are both fantastic guys. On an unrelated note I can't believe Lil Durks taste in women, like wow.

Boardwalk Empire lost me the second they let Meyer lanksy live in season one when he was tied up with the other assassins. Nicky should of put a bullet in his head just like the rest.

The fact that none of the major historical characters on the show can get got if the story demands it, takes away from the show as a whole in my opinion.

Its one of those shows that is super impressive in retrospect when you look back and see all the ground it has covered and what it accomplished, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't have some boring ass parts. Anything that wasn't Barksdale vs. Marlo vs. Police or the kids in season 4 = no thank you.

there was some shit in season 2 which was boring as shit. i cant even remember it. my brain threw it in the recycling bin.

Seasons 2 and 5 were kinda trash. It throws me for a loop when people say it's the GOAT show. How, when nearly half the show was garbage?

1,3,4 were all ace, though.

It's kind of like stanning Nas. You know a good deal of it is absolute bunk but it depends on how much you like the highs, I guess.

My favorite TV show ever is probably Deep Space Nine though. Goddamn.

24 shitty seasons get a lot a flack but it's always been silly american hype. It's the DBZ of action dramas. Yeah you're gonna have your favorite arcs (whaddup android saga and garlic jr saga) but you kinda just ride the whole thing out since there are still cool episodes.

Plus they brought it back up a bit in the last few seasons. The worst thing that happened with 24 is it became a victim of it's success and network wouldn't let them shake things up really. Every season you knew there was gonna be a CTU mole (or two), you knew no one was ever gonna believe Jack (lol even though he had already saved the world a million times) and half the CTU staff was gonna die.

Actually when you think about it, maybe 24 was just some next level critique of American Intelligence organizations?

If Nas is like The Wire, than Jay-Z is like The Simpsons. The quality of his music has gone down a lot since his earlier stuff, but he manages to still make a lot of money off his newer stuff

I'm consistently told that Season 2 is much better on repeat viewing and has some of the more deeper exploration of themes (along with Season 4), but I've yet to run through them again.

IMO the Towers had a better urgency, cast of actors and character which is what makes the seasons there the best.
