No one buys expensive tequila to enjoy. You buy shitty tequila to get trashed on.

24 shitty seasons get a lot a flack but it's always been silly american hype. It's the DBZ of action dramas. Yeah you're gonna have your favorite arcs (whaddup android saga and garlic jr saga) but you kinda just ride the whole thing out since there are still cool episodes.

Plus they brought it back up a bit in the last few seasons. The worst thing that happened with 24 is it became a victim of it's success and network wouldn't let them shake things up really. Every season you knew there was gonna be a CTU mole (or two), you knew no one was ever gonna believe Jack (lol even though he had already saved the world a million times) and half the CTU staff was gonna die.

Actually when you think about it, maybe 24 was just some next level critique of American Intelligence organizations?
24 is Lowkey awesome, bc I remember watching it thinking how awesome and badass everything was. Now you rewatch it and it's still awesome dumb fun, but you feel awful remembering how rah-rah the show was towards anti-terrorism.

Trinidad James looks so out of place in that White Walls video, dude drops one song and thinks he can make cameos in other people's videos.

You should probably tell him that trying to gain exposure by agreeing to appear in music videos is not agreeable with you. I'm sure he will stop. He probably doesn't even know he is doing it wrong.

I like the longshoremen and politician arcs in The Wire. Journalist shit was boring as hell though.

Yeah the journalist plot wasn't very good. The docks were fine though, don't know why it gets a lot of hate

Sopranos the GOAT for sure. Character drama and humor was on another level above everything else imo

2nd Season might be my favorite season of the Wire

Sopranos was so good I forgave them for season 6

I love The Wire S2 in part because it's arguably the ballsiest season of modern television. A show with middling ratings and a weak audience, deciding to put many of it's biggest characters on the back burner and instead focus on telling a story we rarely hear about: the death of manufacturing, death of the rust belt, and the contraction of the middle class. In context of organized crime, as well as street crime. It's the least glamorous take on mob crime that I've ever seen. I've talked to Sopranos fans who just hate S2 of The Wire due to that. There's nobody to root for, there isn't a super fly white gangster, nothing. The most powerful mob character dresses like an 80 year old retired cab driver.

So, I wish I could post threads again, because I am so damn LTTP on DJ Quik's discography.

I recently asked my mom what music should I buy, and she said to just buy Quik's whole damn catalog, and so I did. 8 albums for about $75. I was like, "He better be dope as fuck."

I already knew "Safe + Sound" from my childhood, but nothing else until today. And maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnn... "Trauma"? "Book of David"??? WHERE HAS THIS GREAT MUSIC BEEN ALL MY LIFE!!!!!111111

And it gives context to what happens through the entire show and stops it from being so black and white. How did the city become the way it is? Well, it started with the death of manufacturing. If Detroit was still car capital of the world it would be an advanced Detroit of the 50s - which was on track to being just as big as LA. If the Baltimore blue collar jobs hadn't been seized by corrupt unions, outsourced to China and the majority of fisheries relocating major operations to Boston and smaller towns across the Eastern seaboard, the Baltimore that exists in The Wire may not have been possible to depict in a realistic manner.

The wire made me too depressed to finish it. I stopped in the middle of the fourth season like 3 years ago.

illegal immigrants are stealing our air
The Wire>The Sopranos>The Shield

Breaking Bad > Mad Men > The Sopranos > The Wire >The Sheild > Everything Else

Y'all sleep on Mad Men but the story is crazy bruhs it's like "No one man should have all that power" meets "All things Fall Apart" for white upperclass business execs.

Mad Men

The Shield = Breaking Bad

The Wire

I never really watched The Sopranos. Too dry.

I'd rather watch comedy anyways. Got enough depressing real world shit to deal with anyways. Mad Men is the best tho. It provides amazing moments of cathartic release that other shows wish they could hit.

Sopranos is too dry but Mad Men is the greatest? Ok...

There is Deadwood and Rome...

Think I might watch Deadwood again

Mad Men and boardwalk the best on tv right now. And they're both creative offshoots of sopranos. Mad Men especially feels like sopranos minus the crime.

They go hand in hand for me. Gonna be really sad to see mad men go, was my favorite amc show and I loved following those characters every week

Eh. The writing on Mad Men is brilliant, and I love the set pieces. It's the type of show that makes me think for days, just reflecting on how the characters think/act. Really reminds me of various novels I've read that are set in the 60s or earlier.
