Yeah SSX and all those games from that era had good soundtracks, I think because it was during a time when soundtracks were beginning to be taken seriously by developers but they were still the kind of thing the sound department (or whomever was in charge of music) was in charge of putting together. Now a days soundtracks are filled with entry level bench warmer rappers who weaseled their way onto the soundtrack, mixed with boring shit we hear all day on the TV and radio.

NBA street had a sick soundtrack too.

tony hawk definitely the undisputed goat soundtrack. i still listen to songs on there
Yeah, 2 and 3 were my shit growing up. Same with NBA Street.

Tony Hawk Underground was where I put CD's of Nas on my Xbox and played. 2nd coming of custom soundtracks was Test Drive Unlimited for me.

New Game album is out, for those that are interested.

I'll give it a listen, I seem to be one of the very few who still enjoy his music.

Not that excited though, not with a Quik album right around the corner.

damn, yeah F.U.N. is really good

Throw a new album on your mp3 player and bump it while driving around, listen to a new tape while working out, play some video games with an album playing concurrently... How don't you have time?

It's more just lately. I was re watching the shield and I got hooked. Any free time I was home was spent watching that. The newest album on my phone was pinata. I'm not up to date with the thread either so not sure what's come out lately

Listening to music at work would be such a blessing. I can't even listen to it while I'm studying, or else I get distracted. I usually have an hour or 2 before bed.

I was the opposite I didn't listen to rap, but some nice folk or post rock was a godsend for studying.

I usually do plug seshes while im at work dat based college IT job. When I'm studying I'd listen to R&B I guess it just soothes me out and I'm better able to focus on my work.

listening to music while studying would be a godsend. but nah, I can't multitask like that.

i try with rap sometimes but it can be hard to study to. mostly just instrumental, post-rock and film or game soundtracks.

speaking of GOAT study music any of y'all see gone girl? i know t guy did, saw the dude in the OT thread. shit was really entertaining, it's like a marriage horror movie.

GOAT study music is some simpler baroque or some slow deliberate ambient like some Eno or Biosphere. Maybe some minimal composers.

No lyrics pls

About to leave to catch an early showing right now (6 dollars whew).

I love listening to mostly instrumental or low key music while studying, but it depends on what subject more than anything.

I have tons of time to listen to music cause of school and working out. Even free time at home when I'm not playing games or watching movies or hanging with friends. Only reason I don't cover more ground on albums is because I like to focus in on a few a week max (to get the most out of them).

meh

Pretty crazy that someone who was once on the cutting edge of hip hop production can't find decent production now.

and his flow is done. that album is embarrassing and i will choose not to acknowledge it. PE will always be dope, but its time to hang them up.

yo that point about being the best fusion of psych rock and hip hop i've ever heard is type true.

sampling rock music is really tricky territory for most rappers i find. I don't really know of many producers that've made it a key part of their sound. Ski Beatz is pretty good at it, but I can't really think of anyone else off top.
