Danny going corporate. He must be a black republican, time to stop buying his albums and post about him bitterly from here on out.

Radio play is rather irrelevant IMO. If you're building buzz you just want your name out there, and getting Wiz on your song=instant listens from separate fan bases.

We'll see on October 21st when Logic's album sells more in a week than the average hip hop album that features a heavy rotation single. Assuming he isn't undershipped too much. If you don't have a fanbase you aren't going to sell shit in this climate, radio doesn't matter much. J Cole has been the poster child for this, but Kendrick, Q, and others have done the same. Meanwhile Bobby Shmurda is going to bomb hard with a huge song.

Tinashe bombed last week. She had a small fanbase but signed to a label, rushed out a project with a big single (top 30), and sold what, 25k? Radio sells the single, not the artist - that's how labels eat now.

Poor DOC, stays underrated even when people are trying to put him on

"In an episode of Beverly Hills, 90210, David Silver (played by Brian Austin Green) can be seen reciting the lyrics to "They Want EFX."

When is that doc album listening thing running until?

My dusty ass is suited for this.
No time period. Given that several frequent posters (largely conway west stans) in here have copped to flat out not listening to half of major shit before 2003 I decided to post about and recommend posters about one overlooked / less universally loved classic album every week.

So far we've done

Organized Konfusion - Stress : The Extinction Agenda
The DOC - No One Can Do It Better

And this week is Das EFX - Dead Serious

I want to get into garage. I've been listening to Fever to Tell lately and liking it a lot. Raw Power is up next. Where do I go from here? Are people still making this kind of music?

I love Garage rock. I'll post some shit when I get off work.

I love this. Didn't get a chance to go back through The DOC cause I was in Texas with family last week but I'll give Das EFX a listen.

This is a dope idea. I'm down for this, time permitting of course.

What about maybe doing a head to head type of deal every 3rd or 4th week? Say pick two albums and listen to both and people post impressions and pick their favourite of the two? Add the votes and pick a winner type thing?

Dogg pounds Dogg Food Vs CNN War Report for example

There are tons of new great garage rock bands. I'd have to be at my computer to give you specific artist names and albums, but King Khan & The BBQ Show is a fantastic starting point. Royal Headache are also incredible.

Not really trying to make this competitive or an argument tbh. But I'll take all album suggestions for sure.

We should listen to classic albums and determine how Kanye West influenced them, retroactively. For instance Das EFX was known for making up words, which is a theme Kanye birthed on his first album, College Dropout.

Early variants of the croissant have been dated to the thirteenth century, and became to be known as the workman's pain de ménage. Croissants were no doubt inspired largely by Kanye's landmark cultural achievement, I Am a God.

Yeah, I admit not listening to the DOC album last week. Gonna get to it eventually, but MCAT studying and full time school schedule ain't helping.

what

we're talking about Logic
Logic

Also Aquarius wasn't rushed at all. Though I never expected it to do well in the first place (single so big, overshadows the artist).

Is there a way to add links directly to a plug playlist?

Search is being a bitch and the video might be too new or something.

EDIT: Nevermind, we're in there.

Reese x OG Maco x Casey Veggies new track is garbage.

also, what's the verdict on Maco now? Atlanta right now is full of producers, artists and everything in between. TrapMoneyBenny, Brandom Thomas, Zeus, Maco, Key, DMP, and some others. And Slug Christ(cloud chill wave shit, think Yung Lean)

I'm not exactly sure which sides of Atlanta they all stay in but maybe someone will put together a list of everything important.
