This is known. One of the worst moments in Jay career. It's one of those songs that tarnishes Vol.1 , we all know this. The sunshine video / single is one of those things that moved Jay from a guy with a plat single and gold album to a plat album, but it hurt him in certain areas.
in this mtv doc a bunch of roc guys talk about the space he was in after biggie died etc, Vol. 1 and sunshine. It's interesting how they all look back on that period kinda like it happened at the wrong time. Hov wasn't in the right mind frame, and they had to release Streets is Watching to appease NY heads...
Dunno how I feel about the dust Dame is throwing at Hype though. Hype is a legend, cmon.
