Gaf...I need a good....ANIME game.

I recommend watching Anime instead, the anime "games" are usually inferior to the good anime shows that you can find. There is some amazing artsy anime shows out there.
If you want one though, i think you can try Ni No Kuni, it was animated by talented people from Studio Ghibli, a well known studio.

Sakura Wars

I'd like to second Sakura Wars since I haven't seen anyone else mention it, I'm playing through it right now & it's very anime in a good way IMO

If you have a Nintendo DS, the Mugen no Frontier games are a must.

As a rule of thumb :

If you like visual novels and SF, play 13 Sentinels(*)
If you like whodunnits, wait for that Great Ace Attorney localization announcement (and keep an eye out for Famicom Detective Club).
If you like beautiful girls who are also strong and personnable, play Senran Kagura Burst Renewal (and if you have a 3DS, Senran Kagura 2 is the real hidden gem of the series).
If you like exploration and action-RPGs, play Ys 9.
If you like Persona but you want something more 90s and less weeb-friendly : try Kowloon Yōma Gakuen ki / Kowloon High-School Chronicle
If you like the Chrono series, play Another Eden on your phone.
If you like tactical games, play Fire Emblem Three House.
If you like Fire Emblem, play Fire Emblem Heroes on your phone.
If you like mecha, play both Super Robot Wars T *and* Daemon Ex Machina.
If you like Macross Plus and 90s-style anime military SF, play Ace Combat 7.
If you want to go full Japanese native, play Densha de Go Hashirou Yamanote-sen (if solo) and Momotaro Dentetsu (with your friends).
If you like some light pop-philosophy while figthing high-heeled androids, wait for Nier Replicant. If you don't care for the philosophy, pick up that Ninja Gaiden trilogy at release and play 1 & 2.
If you like old Japanese movies and some good-hearted weirdness with your soap opera, play Yakuza games (either 0 or Like a Dragon)
If you like Nethack, play Shiren the Wanderer
If you like shoot'em up, wait for that ESP Ra De Psi western release.
If you like folklore, wait for that Kikikaikai remaster/remake/sequel/Idontrememberwhichone
If you have a hacked SNES mini, consider playing the patched Ganbare Goemon games on it.
Bonus stage : pick up one Musou game and master it

(*) and if you want something less anime (at least visually), 428 is the genre masterpiece.

Outside of remastered/rebuilt classics (FF7R is dope as hell if you like the original one) and mainline DQ, avoid SE games.

That Crayon Shin-chan game was the real highlight of the last Nintendo Direct, for me.

just list what you like and ill decide.
Then you need to build a PC and install few emulators as almost all good Anime game usually retro. The only modern good one is CODE VEIN AFAIK, else all Americanize trash edgy kiddie/teen shit.
Some few example:

There are still good Japanese games out there, but you can no longer count on gaming communities to promote the really interesting stuff like they did 10/15 years before - a mix of politics, gamers's laziness, and marketing's iron grip on most western gaming communities effectively combine to invibilize anything that is not your typical, lowest common denominator weeb crap.

I mean, just take a look at that Crayon Shin chan trailer : that's 1.5M views on Nintendo's Japanese channel. How many anime fans do you think have ever seen at least one episode, or even one movie of the franchise ?

SAO Fatal Bullet will most likely keep you occupied for at least 20-30 hours. I recommend waiting until you can get it on sale-- it was on sale for 75% off plus all the DLC (total of $20 for everything) during the lunar new year sale, and probably will be again during the steam sale.

Also, God Eater 3 will give you cask strength anime to the face. Seconding Code Vein as well (skip the DLC on this one however, it sucks).

Daemon X Machina for medium sized robot action (I'd say -giant-, but really, they arn't THAT big). For RPGs, there's loads and loads of JRPGs, really. The Nep games are the most stereotypically anime ones.

This is all from the perspective of a PC user.

It's not based on an actual anime... But it has a dark anime "type' of story/art and everything bizarre that most good animes have... It is also a good original game series that started on the ps1:

Deception IV (PS4/Vita/PS3)

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is the most anime game I've ever played. You are basically playing through story arcs that occurred in the show and the visuals look fantastic. Obviously, helps if you are a Dragon Ball fan.

This is the only anime game I own.
It was fun. Fights got too hard for me. Didn't finish it.
Only way to play it is on 360.
