We need to start planning the NYC Gaf party!

Who was the gaffer who said his friend owned a bar in Manhattan?

Yeah man, so here's the deal. The bar is in midtown a couple of blocks from both Port Authority Bus Terminal and Penn Station. So out of towners could come in by bus or train. Anyone coming from any of the boroughs in NYC could get there by subway.

The bar has two floors. If we had the party on a Friday or Saturday night, we could probably get the top floor closed off for GAFers only or just mingle with regular people coming to the bar I don't know. I was thinking that we could probably work out some sort of wrist band system where all the people from GAF would get a drink discount by wearing one. But to get one you have to put on a name tag with your GAF name on it.

My September and November weekends are almost completely booked up right now. So I'm thinking it would have to be some time in mid October. Though I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on when would be best. Should we do it in this thread or start a new one?

Nah, my friend (with the red hair, she dressed up as Ginny) went to cinema makeup school. I offered to act as a piece for her portfolio, and what better place to dress up than Comic-Con?

Other than that, I'm up for this as long as it isn't during Comiccon (Oct 8-10). I would prefer a house/apartment since we could get a stream and games going, but just meeting and talking to gaffers is totally fine by me.

Yeah, this would be the best. Heck, if I had some money, I could like, rent out a place that would allow bringing TVs and stuff to game on for a day and use that for a party. Maybe ask for a voluntary donation of like 5-10 bucks per person or something to cover the cost.

Then Pinko comes into some thread and calls them virgins or losers for having pornstar avatars and someone puts virgin instead of waifu on his avatar and he just took it.

This party would be for those who can attend not for those who can't. We can post vids and pics afterwards like with any other party.

I agree that people should be socializing, but as it's been said in this thread, not everyone is like that. Some people use games as a way to break the ice. A decent amount of gaf doesn't drink (and there would probably be a bunch of under 21 people at the party anyway). Games work as an outlet for people to come out of their shells and it's quite common at parties these days.

Skies, when I left your house (remember I came in to use the bathroom but your roommate was in there forever; then you remembered you have a bathroom downstairs) and was walking to my car, there were two older women in the street with their car on the side of the road. They were talking to some guy in a SUV who was very perplexed. They were trying to find your house. They were HILARIOUS! One of them admitted that she just turned 60. They said to me that they knew me and saw me before with my actor buddies. I'm not an actor. The other said she was a cocktail waitress at Dimples. She wrote down my e-mail address ( :lol ) on a napkin and then proceeded to nearly crash her car into the curb because I told her she couldn't park on the wrong side of the street.

I wonder what happened to those two ladies... and I haven't gotten an e-mail from her.

I opened the door to tell them the party was over and they literally bolted into a hour-long speech about only god knows what. I just stood their and stared, laughing my ass of inside, but really wondering when this women would stop talking cause I was so tired lol. Finally at around 4:30 AM they left. From their.... I have no clue.

I support this as a possible venue for a GAF party, though it would be cool to have it in a house and then have this bar be the location of the NYC GAFterparty.

By the way, my house is large enough to have a house party similar to Skies but there are a couple of issues. First, it's in central Jersey, equidistant from NYC and Philly, but not as easily accessible by public transportation. I have a detatched garage with a game room in it with PS3 & 360. Hell I even have the ION drum kit. Problem is, the town I live in is a beach town (norther most part of the "Jersey Shore") and much of my partying area is outside. So summer would be a more ideal time for a party. We also have a room setup as a disco with lights and speakers. Definitely a party house, but the location may put some people off.

Central Jersey is definitely fine by me (North Jersey here) but as you said, it's less accessible and we probably wouldn't get as many people. Unless your friend is really against it, I say we just do it at his bar and have other people bring games and stuff.

Of course if any other NYC gaffer is willing to have it their place that isn't a total schlep like the Bronx, that's good too.
