Joe Six-Pack: posting for the common man
Hello, no new thread was created so I went ahead and did it. It would be helpful if when posting pictures you didn't quote them. 1) it makes it much more difficult to quote them for a new thread like this, or the next page. 2) it makes them smaller, I'm of the mind post as reasonably big sizes as possible. Its a photo thread, if people can't stand to have big photos, they can deal with it IMO.

Here's most of the photos from the last page, I didn't get the ones where people posted their own photos in quotes. That said, there is some very nice stuff so far this quarter.

I'm not all pro like you all but gotta start somewhere. I haven't had the chance to adventure out yet so I've only taken pictures of my pets and stuff around the house. I like this one of my kitty though. I managed to get him to reach up to the door knob and got a nice shot of it.

some cat pics cause I have nothing else to shoot

Shouldn't there be a Q2 thread now?

This was my first time messing with Pan F 50 film, really liked how the images came out.

From a very improvised photosession with a good friend, was fun and I kinda liked how some of the shots turned out.

Was messing around with some of my photos, and wanted to see how they'd come out cropped at 16X9.

going through my old pics and found a pretty cool one. Surprisingly it was saved in high quality jpeg despite me being dumb and scale everything down at that time so I had some wiggle room in pts.

Snapseed test by simulatron, on Flickr

Trying out the new Snapseed update to edit an old photo instead of VSCO this time. Any feedback on the results? Never actually tried editing like this before lol

I was a little busy lately, but now time management will be even harder. :)

Best, most awesome and craziest thing I ever experienced in my life (for the second time, now)

The light was bad, of course, but I don't care :)

Aw man, this is awesome. Also, the light is perfect! Congrats!

hi gaf photog

what is a rough description of the lighting used to create these picture. I need to photograph my cosplay girlfriend and she wants a super hero poster type look. She is playing green arrow.

This is a sample of her and the costume.

I threw this together in about 20 minutes. Kinda rough, but I think it captures the essence.

Took yesterday. Never get tired of the view here.

I haven't contributed anything to this thread for ages, but I finally got some shooting done over Easter. Nothing special but got me off the blocks for 2015.

This was taken on the High Line in NYC, and I just love the contrast between industrial (train tracks) and nature (cherry blossoms, trees, ect)

Finally got film from my trip to Paris developed. It was my first attempt at film photography.

I'm kind of surprised at the color ones, really not what I was expecting. Is it just me or there's a lot of sepia in there?

Sunset at the famous bonsai rocks in Tahoe. The cloud was forming way too thick over the west side of the lake and I was worried that the sunset could be ruined. But it let up at the last moment for a sneak peak of the sun and the golden hour.

outstanding OP and a great way to kick off Q2!

i've been working A LOT and haven't had time to do any photog-related projects, but eventually i'll find the time. i still have some things i haven't processed yet that will eventually get posted. looking forward to lurking around and seeing everyone else's work!

Lightroom 6 is out and crop isn't a laggy mess anymore!

Switching between Library and Develop is still kinda annoying. Maybe a little faster at times.

I'm excited about the new Lightroom (just downloaded it), but I never experienced lag on anything. Least of all while cropping.

The new panorama feature is gonna be awesome. I hated having to export to photoshop and then all my local adjustments get all screwy. Glad it lets you edit the pano as a RAW file.

what is your computer? I'm on a rMBP late 2013, 2.3 ghz core i7, 16 GB RAM, GeForce 750m w/ 2 GB VRAM.

crop always lagged for me, now it's smooth as silk.

What changes are in 6? I don't think I use LR extensively enough to appreciate them, but maybe there's a change in there that I'll care about haha.

Went on my first photowalk last Saturday (pretty sad considering I've been into this as a hobby for a good 8 years or so now). Didn't really get anything super interesting, but these were my favorite shots out of the bunch:

Went out last night attempting to catch some shooting stars. Unfortunately I didn't see any despite camping out for 3 hours T_T. At least I got a decent shot, still continue to be amazed with the DR and low light performance of my new camera.

Man these are some eye popping photographs, I gotta share some of mine here for C&C. And make a decent symbol watermark for temp use at least...
I have a long way to go for post processing, I like my compositions most of the time, using Lightroom CC (6) and Fuji X100T.

my canon dslr bit the dust due to water damage, so i've gone back to shooting with my cellphone and an old fuji point and shoot.

Got an iPhone 6 earlier this year and have been having some fun playing with the various editing apps for it.

This sounds awesome, given I do a lot of Panos, but is the only way to get the latest version still through their crap ass subscription service? Edit never mind, it would appear you can still buy the standalone version.

You can get standalone or upgrade (a bit hidden) from them too. Go to Lightroom CC's site, look for Lightroom 6 and add it to cart. If you just want the upgrade, you edit it in the cart.

Just got back yesterday from a trip to Vancouver, got a ton of photos to work through (nearly 3k tho some of that is for a timelapse).

He's one at least, from Gastown:
