More from China as usual, but hopefully something a little different at the same time (plus my usual portraits lol):

Haven't been out taking as many photos as usual due to moving, but still taking pics of random dogs whenever I get the chance.
Husky!

A couple of my favorites from the US Open last week:
It must be fun following the tour around, you take great shots.

These give me the feeling of watching a studio ghibli film, looks like the trip is going well.

So good, vern.

Thanks dude, love your stuff too. Wish we can trade for a week... But just a week.

Interesting eyes on that husky. Love those dogs.

Lol at the old dude feeling like a Ghibli film. That lake was pretty special though and I can see why you would say that. Reflections on the water were crazy clear.

What kind of phone do you use? What editing programs? These are some great photos.

LG V10 and I used lightroom in combination with Replichrome presets. Also thanks!

They're great, especially that last one. Impressed it's a phone.

Curious if they were shot in raw, and what kind of lightroom work was done to them.

Thanks! Files are jpegs, but I do know the phone does raw files. Even though I did a single preset for all the pictures, I did put more work into the last one. Ended up using the adjustment brush to bring down the sky highlights.

It looks like a film preset from VSCO?
Anyway, great shots.

Thank you sir!
I have the sample pack of VSCO presets, but I never used them. Too used to using Replichrome stuff.

Here's more or less the same picture as the phone, but with my D7100:

Get your camera, get a tripod, and go find a storm then. :p

I love photographing storms, but since I'm living in Belgium I don't really have that many opportunities to do so. I do wanna take a storm chasing trip in the US one day though.

Im too nervous to ask this on a photography forum, so i figured id ask you guys. My camera has this issue where it doesn't want to auto focus when using the LCD screen as my guide. It takes for ever trying to find a focused point but then ultimately ends up settling on a unfocused shot. But when i switch to the Viewfinder to take photo's (Which shuts off the LCD screen) the camera will auto focus quickly and clear in focus.

Im sorry if this sounds like amateur question and if i sound like i don't know what i'm talking about. Its just that it use to work both ways, but something is clearly wrong.

You all take great photo's by the way!

Second photo shoot of an actual person I've done, be kind, but I would like to know what I can improve.

I like the first, third and fifth ones. This might be me personally but I'm finding the backgrounds too busy with some of the other ones.

Yeah normally I am all bout dat bokeh vut I wanted to get her dress, since 90% of the reason we were out there is because mom screwed up her prom dress photos. Hem. I had a few others on my Flickr but I just don't know if they are any good, I just haven't built up the eye for photos of actual people.

Yeah it takes some practice getting a better idea of how to shoot people.

I have been watching a pair of Great Crested Flycatchers nesting in a hollow of the tree in our backyard the last week or so. Haven't seen any chicks as yet, but see the parents coming back with food for them pretty regularly.
Flycatcher!

Finally finished my stuff from the NYC LGBT Pride Parade:
That looks like a bunch of fun, they always broadcast the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras on TV in Australia and it looks like everyone is having a whale of a time.

New lens! I'm now the proud owner of a 100-400L (the new edition). Thought I'd get it before the price went up thanks to brexit...and the price already has gone up!

A couple of quick test shots.

Looks nice and sharp, plenty of detail in all of the crab pots there.

Can someone recommend a 35mm film scanner? Something not outrageous in price

Maybe ask in the camera equipment thread? I have no idea personally.

I had to re-up the first two to half-res because of the compression on top of compression...
These aren't HDR or edited in any way. Do you think they're too dark? Blown-out highlights are the devil.
