Edit: I just realised that I assume you have a Wii that can install BootMii as boot2. If you don't, then there is no way to do it unless somebody releases a version of Savegame Manager which doesn't require IOS249.El Pescado said:My non-homebrewed v4.2 Wii just stared giving me a "Wii System Memory is Corrupt" error randomly when exiting from certain channels and games. Nintendo advised me to format the system memory, but I'd rather not lose my Animal Crossing or Brawl data. One forum I checked actually stated that this would not help me anyway.
I prefer to leave my system non-homebrewed, but Nintendo isn't giving me many options here. Is there a way to move these files without homebrewing or at least a way to revert my Wii back to a non-homebrewed state so Nintendo wouldn't be able to tell if I need to send it in for repairs at some point.
Hmm. Apparently BootMii now has an uninstall option. Hence, you could:
1. Use BannerBomb to install BootMii
2. Make a backup of your NAND
3. Install HBC (or just continue to use BannerBomb for the rest)
4. Install IOS249
5. Use Savegame Manager to get your saves off
6. Restore NAND
7. Use BannerBomb to delete BootMii.
The method for restoring those saves without leaving trace of homebrew is more complicated:
1. BannerBomb to use TBR Mod to install a patched IOS36 as IOS236 (see tutorial for IOS249)
2. BannerBomb to AnyTitle Deleter Mod to delete the IOS249 and IOS250 stubs
3. BannerBomb to install IOS249
4. BannerBomb to use Savegame Manager to get the saves on
5. BannerBomb to AnyTitle Deleter Mod to delete IOS236 and IOS250
6. BannerBomb to Wad Manager to install the IOS stubs over the IOS249 and IOS250 positions.
Strange. I specifically I thought 4.0/4.1 was IOS60, which isn't updated, but I might be wrong.Saint Gregory said:It definitely seems to downgrade to 4.0. I've run it twice now and my previously 4.1 Wii is now a 4.0 Wii. Weird...
