NES is in S tier no matter what. That console saved gaming and is in goat status. Also the n64 was transformative when it came out and the graphics and animations were out of this world for the time period. They're both S tier goat consoles. Plus the gameboy advance is wayyyyy too low.

It only saved gaming in the USA, the rest of us were doing fine with our home micros.

Like what positives are you referring? It was overpriced, the online was not great, it ran most multiplatform games worse than the 360. Other than Naughty Dog and MGS4, it was a pretty mediocre system for games comparatively to Sony's other consoles. I guess the Blu-ray play was Ok. Easily the worse console from the PlayStation brand and too high on that list, IMO.

And for my biggest hobby and how many hours I get out of it sure the PS3 came in priced high but its hard to say anything I use this much is overpriced

PS1 the only S tier playstation. PS2 had a ton of games but it was the also the console that had the worst version of multiplatform games. Calling it or Switch S tier is some denial and overcompensation. The only other console that deserves to be called S tier is the original Game Boy. If you bought another handheld other than Game Boy you fucked up big time. Even more so than buying an N64 instead of a Playstation.

The worse part about that console was the horrible slow OS and the drought at the end. The 1st party games were damn good, but alot of those games were ported to the Switch since so few played the WiiU, I think that is lost on alot of people. If those games just stayed on that system, I would imagine that it would be looked at differently now. Not to mention how that would have probably changed the Switch's trajectory.

The issue isn't convincing people that the PS3 was great, the issue is convincing the Americans here that it was better than the 360. To them, Xbox 360 ruled that generation and they don't count the latter-half of that console's life cycle + kinect.

The issue isn't convincing people that the PS3 was great, the issue is convincing the Americans here that it was better than the 360. To them, Xbox 360 ruled that generation and they don't count the latter-half of that console's life cycle + kinect.

Yeah I agree. Some of the Switch's best games were Wii U games or cross gen like BOTW.

The Wii U had great games but was held back by poor marketing, a mediocre launch lineup full of years old ports, the Wii being a very casual console with poor appeal in the late stages of 7th gen compared to 360/PS3, and the impending release of PS4/XBO. The Switch was huge and with the poor sales of the Wii U I think a lot of people see stuff like Pikmin 3, 3D World, MK8 and other as purely Switch games versus what they really are.

I'm not saying that the Wii U was amazing, but it's underrated by most and I enjoyed it a lot.

It was the gen that online console gaming really took off in, at least in the States. There were plenty of issues with all the consoles that gen, that isn't forgotten.
