Game Freak leak for Nintendo. Source code for Pokemon HG/SS and BW2 info - possible Pokemon MMO

Is there a link for the files?

Yep, you can find it via the tweets posted by the OP.

So, I will say that there's not a single clue about a Pokémon MMO being in development in the two files I checked. The more I look at the mmo_test directory the more I believe it was a Hisanao Susuki seminar regarding a basic MMO implementation.

Of course, tomorrow GameFreak announces an MMO and credibility gone but hey, such is life.

For what it‘s worth Ounces sounds more like a toaster than a console. And it would be more reasonable, you know, alarm clock, toaster, the only thing missing is a coffee machine and a toilet seat so I could start my day with Nintendo in beautiful photorealistic graphics.

Is kinda strqnge about Black/White 2.

Pokemon Platinum is galaxies ahead of Pearl and Diamond, but yet they remake Pearl and Diamond.

But now they will go for B/W 2? Strange move.

Maybe they found a decent way of emulators? The same company behind Castlevania did a pretty good job with emulators.

This could get worse for Nintendo over the next few hours

Code names
  • Sudachi - Area Zero DLC
  • Ikkaku - ZA
  • Gaia - Gen 10
  • Synapse - MMO
  • Ounce - Switch 2

Some small justice being served after their "legal crusade" against anybody ranging from developers to youtubers.

Just waiting to see a youtuber dare do something with this data, stolen data from a hack will get whoever tries to talk about it/start showing pics nuked from orbit by gamefreak.

Yeah, just what I said, anyone with basic programming skills could have realized that. My doubt is whether Suzuki did a seminar in Gamefreak/Nintendo or if he has one uploaded somewhere you can access, I didn't find anything publicly online but might be already gone (since it's from 2011) or it might be something private that he only shared when paid. Personally I'm more interested in the code itself, it's always cool to be able to see how different corporations structure their code, the kind of test coverage they achieve, the naming conventions, etc.

The people leaking this and continuing to share and talk about it should find the decency to at least omit the name of the victim.

There could be serious ramifications from having their name out there.
Ramifications from whom? Nintendo firing or sueing the GameFreak employee? All Nintendo had to do was give each GameFreak employee a $30 MFA device and put MFA on the company portal where they seem to be hosting tons of source code and binaries. This is on Nintendo.

Pretty sure this was a social engineering issue. No amount of tokens would have prevented that.

If only I had bookmarked the post where I successfully predicted that we were getting a square box called Gamecube from its codename.
GameCube’s codename was Dolphin. No hints whatsoever. I’ve also seen the name Starcube, but the official codename within Nintendo while it was under development was Project Dolphin. As I recall, Starcube was one of the final names considered for the console before they settled on GameCube.

Project Cafe? Only in hindsight knowing now what the key features were of the Wii U, could one look back and try to pretzel their way into saying that it hinted at anything.

Even Revolution, while one’s imagination could run wild, still falls within the norms of a codename by not hinting or implying any features or innovations, etc.

NX implied nothing and stands for nothing. Literally even Miyamoto is on record as saying he doesn’t know what it was supposed to stand for, if anything. At the time he said that, he was the second-highest serving executive officer within the company.

Gen 10 pokemon for the new movie for adults ? (Aperon)
The only instance I found about アペロン /aperon/ in Japanese was from a site doing jewelry. Indulge me this one:

Between several pendants they named Arcturus, Orion, etc, the one they call アペロン is based on the Greek word Apeiron, the concept of endlessness and infinity.

According to Wikipedia,

Apeiron generated the opposites (hot–cold, wet–dry, etc.) which acted on the creation of the world (cf. Heraclitus). Everything is generated from apeiron and then it is destroyed by going back to apeiron, according to necessity.[6] He believed that infinite worlds are generated from apeiron and then they are destroyed there again.

So, could that small pokémon Akari is carrying be a kind of world destroyer? Something as small and cute being such a formidable entity?

Note that in Japanese they use アペイロン instead, however it wouldn't surprise me if they changed it slightly to shrink it to 4 syllables following their 四文字 /yonmoji/ custom.
