The Song of Ice and Fire.

It's all about Daenerys and Jon.
Or about Iyanna (Stark/Ice) and Raegar (Targaryen/Fire)
Or about Jon (Half Stark/Targ)
Or about the Starks + Targs in general
Or... about Dragons vs Ice Zombies.

So they even ever say the words Azor Ahai in the show? Pretty sure that was a book thing.
Seems to be a lot of that going around
like with the sword of Dayne's. Never read the books and it's why I stay in this thread so it's kind of jarring when people talk about certain stuff like it's common knowledge in the no book thread.

Would anyone else actually not like Dany to end up on the Throne? I really don't get the love from her, she's an entitled King of a madman whose first reaction just two episodes ago was 'burn their cities to the ground' and wishes to rule a land she's never had much to do with because of her psychopath father. I've tried desperately to like her but I've never been able to connect with her the same way I do to most characters like Jon, Olenna, Tormund, Davos, Arya, etc...

Tormund on the iron throne... I'd pay to see that.

I was 100% against her on the Throne until recently and that's due to Tyrion. She's becoming a lot smarter and more "in control" now that she has his influence which she seems to greatly respect him. As long as Tyrion stays alive and is there to give her council I could live with it

Some of that comes from the extras on the blu-ray and also the viewer's guide on HBO's site.

Some probably does come from the books, though...

And some of those things actually were mentioned in the show at some points, just not terribly explicitly.

Tormund - Brienne shipping I can understand. Dany & Jon on the hand...that's literally the least interesting story to tell between the two. No idea why people are clamoring for it so hard.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
She was GOOD and she was KIND and you KILLED HER

I know there is bleed through, and usually it doesn't bother me but this thread in particular there have been in depth discussions of a few things that probably shouldn't have been.

Just pointing it out not ready to go nuclear with the wildfire over it.

Because it makes the most logical sense within that world, and it's arguably the two main characters.

Brienne clearly is aiming (and getting friend zoned by) Jamie.

This one as well:

"a Targaryen, alone in the world..." and then the camera immediately pans up to Jon.

This scene gets me everytime. Sam, thousands of miles away from Mereen can understand what Dany is trying to do. And Maester Aemon's sorrow that here is a relative of his alone in the world, with no guide, no teacher, left to fend for herself, and there is nothing he can do to help her. Some people complain that Dany isn't good at this, isn't good at that. What were they expecting? She was thrown into the deep end of the pool and told to swim. If she started swimming like an olympic athlete right off the bat, the same people would then complain about how unrealistic that is.

It makes sense that she's tripping and falling, plus it doesn't help the type of people she had to deal with. Maester Aemon gets that.
Yes! The prettier the better!

Rhaegar has to be the most beautiful person they've ever put on the show. i will accept nothing less lol.
I think they would, he's still a Stark. Just not Ned's.

Sansa on the other hand would only find out if Bran was to return, which would officially remove her claim.
WOuldn't him being the Three Eyed Raven mean that Bran has to live under a tree? Kinda hard being Warden of the North when you're busy tree hugging.

Dany is barren as the Red Waste. Jon should shoot his dragonpups somewhere they won't be wasted.

Eh, that's actually kinda up for debate. There's some dialogue from the witch lady back in the original book (and I think in Season 1 too) that folks think is either a prophecy that might deal with Dany getting preggers again one day against impossible odds or she's just outright mocking Dany in that Drogo is never coming back.

Here's the book version, though I'd love it if someone can confirm whether or not this bit made it to the show or not:
"When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east," said Mirri Maz Duur. "When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. When your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child. Then he will return, and not before."

What is it with Brienne falling for guys who already found the perfect guy? She went for Renly when he already had Loras. Now she's gunning for Jaime when he already has Bronne.

You know that how? Are you her doctor or something?

No, the books and the show have implied that Dany's womb became barren after her miscarriage with Drogo's child after she tried to use blood magic, if memory serves me right. However, as I mentioned above, there may also be reason to believe that Dany might eventually get pregnant again.

She'll fall for Tormund...right after he falls in love with a Sand Snake

There's two types of people whose words pouring out of their mouths I don't trust; witches, and Cersei.

Or something. And she said it. Her womb was mangled from the monstrosity she delivered. Her three hatchlings are "the only children I will ever have."

It could be a metaphor right? Like only a man who can love her like Drogo did, will she bear children for. So she comes to Westeros, breaks the wheel, and then goes and retires in Mereen?

The Bronn and Jaime relationship is great. .....really Bronn and anyone is great 🤔

With all the talk of directors and considering how popular this show is, it would be interesting to see if any established big time movie directors would ever be interested in doing an episode or 2.
