One thing that bothers me. It seemed that a few things tipped Cat off, and some of the red flags were justified, like the Bolton not drinking and the armored guy walking past her to shut the door. What tipped her off about the band however, because it seemed she was disturbed by what they were playing? I remember the tune from the Season 3 teaser but not its significance or relation to the event of the wedding.

It all happened very quickly but as soon as those doors closed you knew shit was going down she just was scared probably didn't know what to do. Man that last scene of her is going to stick with me for awhile.

Yep. Another Stark dies of stupidity. I called it! Sorta. Starks are too stupid to live. It's evolution at work! Bran is the only one with half a brain and he might die North of the wall.

I think Arya shares similarities with the other Starks in terms of their hardheadedness, but have a feeling that she'll live for a long time. Bran and Rickon as well. They're young and I think they have a lot left to offer for the story.

But they are pretty much lost without Lord Commander Mormont.

yeah, it'll be interesting to see how they've "regrouped" after that shit with Mormont went down, if they have at all. I'm guessing we'll get a better resolution next season though, as I can't see how they tie the crows up in one more episode.

Arya is an idiot too, though. The only reason she keeps living is because she makes up for it in spunk and everyone finds that cute. Won't do her no good when she's older.

She'll probably be super hot when she's older. She's basically the same way Ned's sister was.

jon snow might take on mormont's role as the leader of the watch, after uniting them. haven't they been setting that up for a while.

also i really hope tyrion becomes warden of the north. i want to see a tyrion/jon snow tag team against the white walkers and then against king's landing.

Oh, for sure. She's an idiot, frequently needing others to bail her out of trouble and all, but I get the feeling that she'll grow up into someone intelligent and fierce. I could very well be wrong, though.

Question: When Robb was looking at his map/chessboard, I noticed there was what looked like an upside down man crucified on a wooden X. Was that related to Theon?

That's the forces of House Bolton, that's their sigil. Bolton was the guy Cat slapped, who stabbed Robb.

Until last night, he was presumably an ally and a bannerman of the North.

Anyone else think it was odd how Roose Bolton kept exiting stage left constantly throughout the wedding feast? I swear he left the room at least 3 times. It was almost like he just remembered, oh now I need armor under my party clothes, oh I need a dagger for the fun to come, oh I need to take a piss...wait, the Blackfish already had that line.

Apparently I was talking to myself last night?

Fierce? Yes. Intelligent? Probably not. Then again, kids are stupid. Maybe she'll grow out of it.

She's also a little crazy, which helps. Unless it's just more common than I think for 12 year olds to coldly threaten to put a sword through someone's eye.

I don't understand all those 'arya is our only hope' posts, when to me it's Bran who has the most potential, I mean, maybe the guy could control the mind of Dany's Dragons for all we know!

Jon was ordered to do whatever necessary to maintain cover to act as a spy by Qhorin Halfhand.

I didn't even think about that. Does anyone else know he was on orders?

I'm wondering how much he can control with other humans as Hodor is a simpleton and that made it easier for him to do that.

Yeah, that's why he fucked her! All according to plan. If he would have just killed that girl to begin with, he wouldn't have had to kill his bro. Also, he might have been able to protect his commander.

That's what makes it adorable. ^^

But in a previous episode, we were essentially made to believe that Robb knew that Theon was captured and being tortured, right?
The fate of Theon was never disclosed to Robb IIRC. I believe he said to Cat that Theon burned down Winterfell and escaped (which is not true obviously).

Just watched it, and yeah, fuck GRRM, etc etc. Teared up when she said she'd name the baby Eddard. The coolest thing about this show to me is how present Ned's character still is in almost every key scene.

Why didn't Frey showcase his hot daughter in season one when Robb made that promise? I doubt he would've broken that oath, especially when Cat came out and hinted that they were all ugly.

Remember last season when Joffrey ordered to kill those babies? Such sweet, innocent times.

I assume the wedding was going to be as it was here. It was meant to be a 'gift' for him and a nice surprise. Ned Stark was such an honourable man I doubt Frey expected his son to betray an oath he'd made even as a result of the women he had been shown, particularly when the alliance was so important to him.

Arya has connections with that super ninja dude though. I'd say Arya is just below Bran on potential.

What? Halfhand wanted Jon to kill him. He could have cut Jon down easily (I believe it was the Lord of Bones who said the Halfhand went down to easily, or maybe it was Mance I can't remember), but he let Jon kill him so that he would stand a better chance at getting Mance to trust him.

Arya seems more determined too actually fuck people up. If anyone has a chance to exact revenge for her family it's probably her.

Well, one thing is for certain, Daeny has the best collection of straight up warriors on her side. She's got at least 4 swords/spears on her side that have some serious skills. Tyrion has Bron, but that's really all that I can think of.

I haven't read the books but I was aware of the massacre before I saw it so it didn't have as much of an impact on me as it would have had with others in this thread.

Anyway... Vengeance will be sweet.

To be fair it hasn't really achieved much. All Jon did was get laid, then blow his cover and run off without killing the guy leading the attack.

The only advantage it gave them was the very short warning Jon will be able to give castle black, which will be very little use with most the watch killed by the White Walkers and the Lord Commander dead.
