Agreed. I wasn't expecting much because that promo shot floating around of her smiling seems kind of out of character, but seeing her scenes on the show is much different.
That IS Ygritte. We won't really know for sure though, until she says the line.
Ygritte... is perfect. The casting for this show is phenomenal. They keep nailing it for every big role. Ygritte is something else though, they really struck gold there.
when are they gonna start fleshing out Jon's origin story? They haven't set anything up yet. They haven't mentioned Rhaegar at all and only briefly mentioned Lyanna in season 1. Would be nice if we get a flashback of what happened at "the tower of joy".

Flashbacks probably. But the producers would say its probably a good problem to have because it would be a mircle if the show got far enough for that to matter.
Jon could decide to release Ygritte next episode for all you know. Really, as long as the end point is the same, I don't care too much how they get there, so long as the essence of the characters' relationships are intact. I highly doubt they alter Jon's final scene with Qhorin. Look at the scene as more of a filler of Jon/Ygritte's "first date." It actually works better this way, cause her interest in Jon felt way more forced in the books. "This guy spared my life before. I think I'mma fuck him."

I'm pretty sure they'll be smanging by the end of the season. When he meets up with the wildlings I'm guessing she'll vouch for him by saying they're fucking or pleading her belly.
Though one of my favorite parts of the books was her saying "we're sleeping together" to save his life, then later saying "I said we were sleeping together to save your life, but you better stop acting like we are and just go for it". It was kind of hot.
You also realize we're joking about Drizzt Lannister, right? Someone on IMDb put that character name up during the first season as a joke. Drizzt is a Forgotten Realms RPG character.
If you're not sarcastic, I'm sorry if you were fake spoiled. Because I purposely broke that spoiler because it was a joke.
As for the character's fate, my post was 100% pure comedy...Tyrion did not in fact die in Episode 1.

As someone who hasn't read the books (but has read plenty of spoilers online)...loved the episode.
I love the scenes with Arya and Tywin, Braan (I want to see him fleshed out a bit more) was awesome when Theon comes in claiming he has taken over Winterfell.
And Tyrion and Jeoffrey was nicely done.
Only thing I am not really into is the Qarth story. It's like she is a spoiled, angsty teenager who wants a something but really has no clue what the fuck is going on or how the real world works.
And Jon...I still go from good to meh on his story line till date
It is obvious he will be central to the Iron Throne story line in the final books
One question, who was the person who tells Rob about his Bastard who can rise and retake Winterfell?
It's fair enough! You should check out the Song of Ice and Fire is Gud thread. That's the best place to be if you want to talk about the books you're currently on.
Also read them. And stay away from these threads until you're done.
But fine, I'll wait for the next two or three episodes. I just can't imagine yet how Jon will meet Qhorin being with Ygritte that way. Let's see and hope

TV Dany continues to behave too much like her brother. Impetuous and entitled. She wasn't like this in the books. She could be very harsh but not in such a foot stampy throwing a tantrum way.
Damn the ice and fire wiki being down half the times I try to access it.
Remind me;
[series spoilers]
When does rob behead the karstark lord? Have we already moved past that point or is it in ACOK? It was a really shocking scene to see rob execute his former ally like that. IIRC it was because they murdered two boy hostages for revenge.

Anyone else hoping this? (Storm of Swords spoilers)
That Oona Chaplin is not supposed to be that Jeyne at all and we'll get Jeyne Westerling down the road? I think it's obvious this Jeyne is a spy, especially when they leaked her last name, and I have trouble believing even a love sick boy king would marry a spy. But more than that, it puts a little more twist on his character and surprise plot points for those of us who've read the books.
Is it just me or did everything really did click here that haven't before?
I'm not sure why, I haven't really been able to get 100% into the series but something has changed in the last episode. Maybe it's because because my memory of the story is more hazy around this point, which helps me enjoy a series that is so plot heavy. I enjoyed pretty every plot line in this episode, Arya's most of all, that scene with Carcetti was great, but i can't remember why exactly she didn't just as for Tywin to be killed.

I guess that is what she is, I'm hoping she would eventually become a convincing as a 'queen' when the time calls. That would go for Jon Snow as well, neither sound like the future leaders of Westeros that we expect them to be.
And I agree with everyone about Ygritte. It feels like every 'actress' has to sign a contract to get completely naked at some point, so they've done really well to cast people who can act and are so spot on.
I agree. I've read the books, so I know what's going to happen but there's too much passive spoilering going on here. On the other hand you could use the no-book-spoiler-thread:
Just saw this episode. Very different from the books in nearly every storyline this week. Still, I think most of it worked. I'm not sure how Jon's deviation from the book will end up playing out, but still, I fucking LOVE who they got to play Ygritte. She's perfect and so fucking cute. I don't even like redheads usually.

Has anyone bought a shirt from the HBO store? They have some cool designs for GoT, but I was wondering about the quality since they are a bit expensive.
There are a series of gifs floating around tumblr showing the parellels of Ned's execution at King's Landing with Rodrick's execution in Winterfell. Made me think of that George Lucas gif, "Its like poetry".
I just gotta laugh whenever there's some sort of obvious contrivance, i.e. Ghost being really far off in the distance since you can just get a white dog to stand really far away since its way cheaper than CGI wolves, or when you can tell a chick is about to get naked because she is wearing Hulk Hogan clothes that cleary are designed to be ripped off or seductively slipped off.
