Hey guys, non-book reader here, just popping in to ask a question.

There was one thing I was spoiled on that I was expecting to see in the season finale.

ASOS (?)
Where was the Lady Stoneheart reveal? Are they saving that for Season 4 or has that plotline been dropped?

I've heard that Michelle Fairley has signed up to another movie/TV show (unsure).

Probably doesn't matter that she signed on to that other show. She only needs to film one quick scene. Also, the actor who plays Varys has already been on that same show and he was in this whole season still.

I guess it's just so much harder to keep track of so many names (specially invented names) when not actually reading them constantly.

I usually watch the show with a friend of mine and even though she loves it she has a real hard time with the names. I'm usually like "that Dany scene etc."

and she is like "who?"

-"Daenerys Targaryan?"

"Who?"

"The Kahleesi who commands the Unsullied"

"Who?"

"Blonde chick with the dragons".

"Ah, her!

I hope they don't do the Lady Stoneheart reveal till Brienne runs into her, but they just show her as a hooded figure.

It was originally the closing of the third book so they might close season 4 with it

ok, finale was a clunker.
there was so much potential to setup for the next season, but instead we got more of the same old, same old.
well, rest of the season was good, though.

now on to next season (remainder of storm of swords,) if done right, should be the most eventful and exciting season of the show.
there's just so much to tell and too much awesomeness, hopefully they don't fuck it up.

events that need to be covered before heading into a feast for crows:

MASSIVE SPOILERS
- balon grejoy's death (killed by a faceless men)
- mace tyrell and red viper at king's landing
- arya and hound at tavern/inn, fought, hound wounded, arya escapes to the east
- dany heads to mereen, sees dead children, decides to take over, then succeeds with the help of selmy/mormont, also finds out who selmy really is and that mormont was a spy, bans mormont, decides to stay in mereen
- black gate, coldhand
- stoneheart, hound, brothers without banners making shit happen
- wall/castle black defense
- purple wedding
- sansa and littlefinger escapes to the eyrie
- jaime sends brienne to find the stark sisters
- tyrion's trial (battle between mountain and red viper)
- stannis in the north
- tywin does not shit gold

She already knows who Selmy is after the first episode in season 3.

Curtain Call: Michelle Fairley

I was sceptical at first, she looked too old etc, but she really did win me over.

Bran has so little development for the next three seasons. Meets Coldhands. Attacked by the others. Meets green people. Becomes a tree.

They are going to expand on this, and it's going to drag.

The cold hands part is pretty cool and I guess they could expand on his journey to the cave. I think that'd be pretty cool.

They can also pull story bits from the unreleased books.

They will probably pull material from earlier books that was omitted too.
series
Knight of the Laughing Tree story namely, not like Bran gets that much screen time

Obviously, they'll just have Bran get kidnapped by wildlings and become Mance Rayder's cupbearer.

It's like it's the perfect excuse to read the books again.

Doing AFFC/ADWD chronologically right now. It's very interesting this way, but also a slow burn in some areas because there are chapters I get to that I know go nowhere, and as a result I'll usually put down the book(s) for a couple of days.

So i finally decided to check this show out after hearing lots about it. I bought season 1 and 2 through amazon's instant video and have burned through those 20 episodes literally in just a couple days. Now I want to see season 3 but it's not available through Amazon yet... Does anyone know when it's supposed to become available through instant video? I can't find any info about it

HBO shows are not available on video services (Amazon, iTunes, Xbox, etc) until the DVD/Blu-ray set come out.

For season 3 that will likely be next March.

So I finally caved in and started to read the books. It's actually surprising how different some characters are (mainly the Starks) compared to the tv show. I'm having trouble to see them with the same face as the actors.

That has been not spoiler tagged for quite some time now. Wtf?

I've read one book ahead of the show (starting FFC soon), and pop into this thread periodically to read about how the show is going (I'm working through season 2 now). Wasn't expecting unmarked book spoilers plopped out in the open like that.

Yeah that should be tagged obviously, I've sent the poster a PM.

Yeah people mentioned this feature but whenever I'd check, I didn't see it.

Sorry for being off-topic but is there a place we can feature forum request/add-ons? One thing that would be nice is the "View first unread" button to appear next to each thread under Subscriptions.

See the little NeoGAF logo near each thread title? Try clicking on it. ;) Yellow means there are new posts and grey means no new posts - if you click on the yellow, it'll take you to the first unread post.

no? That should definitely be behind black bars.

I know. That's what I'm saying lol. I'm surprised no one has had that post fixed.

I think you guys misread my post. I'm saying his post hasn't been properly tagged for at least a day now. Was just saying that it's unacceptable, and I'm sorry for anyone who has been spoiled because of it.

Does anyone know few episodes back the envoy from Yunkai told Daenerys that they had powerful friends with them and warned her for the consequences of invading Yunkai.

Who are these "powerful" friends of the Yunkai?

The guy who kills his partners and wants to bed Dany. They are a sellswords/mercenaries group.

Jesus christ, I'm a retard. I know I tried clicking on those icons a while back and they did nothing... :S Maybe my browser had frozen just at that point and I never tried again?

...Yeah, I'll go with that. >_>

Edit: Thanks :D

AFFC and ADWD cover the same chronological period, so you should read both. It is one book, split in half.
