Gun, By Neversoft
XBox, PS2, NGC coming for sure in 2005, XBox360 date unknown
Reason they didn't show at E3 - because the 360 version would have captured huge attention and they did not want to show the contrast between 360 and current gen since its the same game. They want strong sales of PS2/Xbox versions first. They also did not want to take away from Quake / COD2 hype. Their marketing team decided better to advertise PS2/Xbox versions in a different way than an E3 demo.

Setting:
Dodge City, Kansas &
Las Vegas, New Mexico
Scene:
A gangwar in the 1880's. This is the wild wild WILD west. An outlaw gang of train robbers, murderers and a 'peace commission' of sherrifs. The Dodge City Gang. Who are some that are involved in these gangs? Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Billy the Kid, Dirty Dave Rudabaugh, Doc Holliday, Mysterious Dave Mather, Jesse James, Hoodoo Brown and a long list of real life outlaws and sherrifs star in this game. Imagine Apache and other Indian groups as well as Mexicans deeply involved in conflict. Throw in horseriding, wildlife, gambling, prostitution and train robberies and what do you get? You get a mature game that's basically a GTA Style gangwar in the west that involves >>real life characters<<, >>real life stories<< and a >>real life setting<<.
Think GTA in the west:
Horses - you can ride up to a speeding horse and kick the guy off / get on. Stealing Horses/Cairrages is just like GTA
Weapons - all kinds of guns, bombs, canons, bow & arrows, shotguns, knives, traps etc. Includes counterstrike style sniping.
Gangs - you can change allegiance and join many different sides.
Street Life / Pedestrians - major AI is going into this game. Enemies and bystanders will be more realistic than in past GTA style games. There will be hostage taking, different kinds of fear and fighting and so on.
Humor - lots and lots of humor - for example, you'll be able to put a gernade in your enemies pants and he may freak out and run screaming back to his friends and blow them all up. Again lots of AI is going into this.
Fire - speaking of which, fire and explosions are all over this game.
Storyline - in between all the free roaming parts are true stories of that time including a love interest, and all kinds of unexpected movie style twists
Graphics - look awesome and not as 'westernish' as you'd expect at all.
Testing - this game is testing very very well. Unlike True Crime where they hyped it up and then let some people down as it proved not to be a 'GTA Killer', they've decided to downplay this one until closer to release - THAT is how confident they are about it.
