Games/Consoles aren't either the GOAT or worse than Hitler

So much of the recent discussion on the merits of a game or indeed console is ridiculously binary, it's either horrendous or incredible with nothing in between.

Every console is great in some way, less great in others.
Even all the controllers are excellent nowadays.

Most games (apart from shovelware) are not terrible and we should discuss with a bit more nuance.
As odious as the worship of Kojima is, the Death Stranding games are not without merit.
I'm currently playing Rise of the Ronin, a flawed game which had many mediocre reviews and so much bitching about it but I'm having a blast with it, it's loads of fun.
There are many better examples of games which would be better served by appreciating their strengths rather than dismissing the because of some little aspect.

In other words, embrace the non-binary, people.

OP seems to be posting on here with a major chip on his shoulder trying to "own" all of us with le heckin' logic and reason.

I see him getting banned and then whining about how awful this community is on ResetEra.

While I agree that more nuance to people's evaluations would be nice, let's not pretend that there is any bright spot to the Xbox business at this point.
There has been in the past year with some solid games but looking forward, it's hard to be optimistic.
Maybe they will concentrate more resources on a few tentpole releases which will benefit fans of them (I'm not)?

No chip on my shoulder and like probably many of you, I was banned from there years ago :)
Don't know what "le heckin'" means.

People are just conditioned to use a lot of hyperbole to get a reaction. A nuanced take doesn't get the clicks. And wtf are we doing with our lives if we don't get the clicks?

This is the internet. Everything is awesome or shit. There is no middle ground.
It's the best way to get heard by cutting through the noise & nuance, unfortunately. Ain't nobody got time to read and debate everyone's reasoned takes.

And it's a game of trying to sway the consensus. Voting something a "1" or a "10" is going to swing the average in the direction you want more than a "3" or "7". To use numerical shorthand to represent sentiment.

joycons are most definitely not excellent if you are having to try hold them horizontally
