Hey GAF, what are games so good that everyone should beat them at least once in their lifetime? For me, here are a few:

The Wonderful 101 (Wii U original recommended, if you can't get a hold of it then get Remastered)- This game is a masterpiece. It's gameplay immaculate, it's plot sucks you in, along with the music and art style. Is my Game of the 8th Gen.
Sonic 3 and Knuckles- Another masterpiece, it's spectacle for a 2D platformer has to be seen to be believed, and tells it's story masterfully without any dialogue or VA.
Resident Evil 2- Perfect game to introduce people to survival horror.
Megaman X4- Perfect game to introduce Megaman series to.

Those are some of mine...what about you GAF? What are your games that are so good that everyone should beat them at least once in their lifetime?

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 for PS2.

Get your esoteric Japanese games out of here, you're not gonna convince many people to play them. THPS has almost universal appeal with people who can use a controller. 2 is also a banger but it feels way more dated. Play 3.

Yes

It's not as long as other RPGs, it can be completed in 20 to 30 hours

Phenomenal cast, soundtrack, graphics, story, world/Lore, gameplay, etc

To date still my favorite game of all time. Only game I ever gave a 10

I think these are easy enough to play even for the most casual gamer to play and enjoy too.

I can think of loads of other games I love too, but they won't appeal to everyone, where as I feel the above three are easily accessible and playable today for anyone off all skill levels & have aged like fine wine or still recent.

Chrono Trigger

I literally just finished Chrono Trigger last night. I'm 36. Can't believe I never even gave it a shot before. It's masterful and now one of my favorite games of all time. Absolutely still holds up today. Loved every second of it.

Ocarina of Time still feels modern all these years later, the archetype of the fantasy action adventure, and it's nuts to think they made it all those years back with no real established templates to riff off of (that blew my mind when I played it in the 2010s for the first time even at the original ~20fps).

I think RDR2 and TLOU2 are some of the best games ever made, but some people hate them.

I don't think there is a trilogy as epic as the above. High production values, excellent story, satisfying combat and the game takes you on a truly epic adventure. God of War 2 is easily in my top 10 games of all time

Two of Naughty Dog's best games

If you haven't played the MGS series, you haven't lived. I think they're my most played games ever; must have completed the SP at least 6 times each.

Underrated gem - Escape From Butcher Bay still remains one of the best FPS games I've played to this date.

I replay both games once a year. DE is divisive but I consider it a genuine masterpiece

The BEST RPG of all time. There is not a single game out there which has made me care for the characters as well as Mass Effect. ME2 is simply a masterpiece. No doubt it's one of the best games to have ever been released in the history of gaming.

Another superb FPS with a memorable campaign

These are probably the last two good Ubisoft games I remember playing.
