Gamescom 2013: Your predictions

Gamescom.

E3 2.0 GAF.

Exactly two weeks from today. What will we see from the likes of Microsoft and Sony? New game announcements. Unveilings. Developer surprises. Release dates. Etc.

Some of mine:

-Microsoft announces Xbox One release date
-Sony announces PS4 release date
-New Xbox One game, maybe two (one of them Crackdown 3)
-New PS4 game or two
-Vita price drop

All I can think of for now.

Sony

- Vita price drop ($199 w/ 4GB card)
- Sony introduces another new IP on PS4
- Major Vita game announcement (Uncharted/InFamous/God of War)

Microsoft

- Black Tusk game shown for XBOX One.
- More details on XBOX One TV, maybe a real live demo.

Nintendo actually reveals its home console specs for the first time. WiiU is actually more powerful than Xbone and PS4, with a same day firmware update unlocking full potential.

Entire room dies.

EA still not interested in making games for it.

Microsoft announces their entertainment hub also plays games.
New Xbox One games.
New PS4 games.
Better explanation of their services.

-early November launch for PS4, week later for Xbox One
-MediaMolecule game shown, +2 more SCEE PS4 games
-3 AAA Vita games
-more Vita ports

LittleBigPlanet 3 is announced. Hopefully for PS4, although I can see it being for PS3.

Littlebigplanet 3D or bust. I don't think a new LBP game will generate any meaningful interest unless it's a bit of a reinvention of the series. There's no better way to do that than taking the series to full 3D and there's no better way to do that than making it PS4 exclusive.

Sony will go into PS4 Vita link up and will give us the release date. Microsoft will adjust the price from 499 euro/dollar to 399 euro/dollar.

Sony:

- Vita price cut ($50) no PS4 bundle contrary to rumours.
- PS4 release date
- Another PS4 launch title
- New Vita game

MS:

- X1 release date
- New game or two
- Killer Instinct blow out

The obvious I guess.

Sony will go into PS4 Vita link up and will give us the release date. Microsoft will adjust the price from 499 euro/dollar to 399 euro/dollar.

No way. The only way MS could lower the price like that is if they took out mandatory kinect, which it's too late for them to do for obvious reasons.

Xbone will release before PS4.

In Europe (especially the U.K) but in NA I don't think so...
------------------------------------------------
-MM new I.P will be demonstrated
-MS will announce a new horror game
-Sony will show to new AAA vita games
-KZ MP will be shown
-3 new indie games from Sony
-Vita/PS3 price drop
-Planetside 2 gameplay for PS4
-New Power Shown in Infamous SS
-The Order Trailer with some gameplay shown
...

Regarding release dates: who presents first? Seems a bunch of people think Sony knocked the price down after MS said $500. Wonder if that could happen again, but for release dates.

Or is Sony going first? MS could possibly do the same, no?

PS4 will announce one game and a release date. Microsoft will do the same, but follow up on it with a discussion about Indie publishing and maybe talk about a few OS features.

Everyone gets disappointed at Sony and GAF blows up in another PS4 vs. Xbone pissing contest.

Nintendo actually reveals its home console specs for the first time. WiiU is actually more powerful than Xbone and PS4, with a same day firmware update unlocking full potential.

Entire room dies.

EA still not interested in making games for it.

As much as I want that to happen, I like these dream decisions just a bit more:

-PS3 pricecut to 199(12GB), 249(500GB)

Let's hope this gentlemen is right. I really do want to see Santa Monica's game. In the oven for 3 years now, they have to have something to show.

- Everquest Next PS4
- Housemarque PSN game
- Sony London AR game
- Santa Monica new IP

Agree, except Ghost Recon Vita, not sure where yo got that from peraps i've missed something? I also think we will get release dates:
Microsoft ~Nov 13 "worldwide in 13 countries"
PS4 ~oct 28 US ~Nov 28 EU

Microsoft will be:
Black tusk reveal
crackdown 3
40 minutes talking about an indie policy very vaguely that we already know about and they dont really give any more details.

I Really expect Sony to destroy Microsoft at Gamescom because of the Microsoft E3 blown load and the unannounced 15 WWS titles out in the first Year of PS4.

I also expect a much improved build of driveclub.

Sony:

- PS4 rel. date (going to guess 10/26 or 10/29 still)
- Some sort of exclusive partnership with Google for live streaming/posting shared videos
- 3 new PS4 game announcements, including one from Media Molecule
- The Order gameplay video

MS:

- XBO release date (going to guess 11/05)
- Crackdown 3 and/or Fable MMO
- Outlining how some of the TV features of the XBO will work for Europe
- Re-emphasizing how they "listened to customers" and removed the 24-hour check-in and how used games will be just like they were on the Xbox 360, just in case people hadn't heard
- Indie game showcase of some kind
- $50-$100 price drop on current SKU to match more closely to Sony's price point

All I know is that SCEE is generally superior to SCEA in their presentations. I am expecting good news for Vita and PS4.

Sony sweeps. Vita makes the turnaround of a lifetime and becomes the best selling console in history in only two weeks.

Microsoft and Nintendo hold press conferences several days later announcing they are leaving game industry.

In all seriousness, I'm not expecting anything groundbreaking. Vita gets a pricedrop, maybe a few leaked/unannounced games. Release dates for the next gen consoles. Next gen gameplay vids and whatnot. Pretty standard stuff.

Sony
- Killzone Shadowfall Multiplayer reveal
- The Order 1866 gameplay
- inFamous Second Son new power reveal
- Everquest Next PS4
- Housemarque PSN game
- Sony London AR game
- Santa Monica new IP

Optimistic I see.
