Anyone want to speculate what these announcements will be?

I say MS announces a partnership with Kojima on a new project with MS studios helping him develop it. LOL, yeah it'll never happen i know.....

I think they'll be 3-4 total announcements we don't know about. Then the xbox daily might contain a couple of them.

I will eat my Sunset Overdrive overcharge can* if Kojima partners with Microsoft exclusively for his next game

*Will not actually eat can :P

I don't really know on announcements, we're due a new Halo game announcement... Microsoft tend to announce the next one before the nearest one is out.

You have to look at the bigger picture of their line-up to see what they are likely to announce here:

I suspect Quantum Break, Scalebound and ReCore will all be first-half of 2016 or very early second half (ReCore).

Then you have Crackdown (it depends on the business model), Sea of Thieves (most likelyF2P so will launch in open beta I think), Gears of War 4 (Holiday 16).

Microsoft like to have at least 3 $60 games in the holiday, so it could depend on Crackdown - if its even 2016 but so far I count on Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3 (it will happen, no doubt) for holiday 16 which leaves at least 1 game left.

With how Microsoft are announcing titles I would be very surprised if they didn't pretty much have Holiday 2016 locked for their big new titles after Gamescom with the exception of the Forza game announcement we know is coming. I could be wrong of course but either Crackdown is that third $60 title or they still need to announce it.

Obviously stuff like Killer Instinct, Twisted Pixel, Press Play and other smaller stuff could come around that time but I wouldn't necessarily expect them to announce them early.

So, a Halo game announcement with Halo Wars 2 the obvious one although I wouldn't expect that to launch in the holiday and then another title possibly.

I say all that but I'm not expecting actually expecting too much myself, what makes sense based on the past doesn't always repeat with the future but its a reasonable indicator.

There's no way they will announce a new Halo. Gears is the big game next year and we won't hear anything until Halo 5 is done and published.

At best a spin off. But I don't think they would want to move any kind of spotlight away from Halo 5.

My man Steverulez always speaking the truth. There is no way there won't be another Halo game till 2018

Unless Microsoft has a big mainstream new IP in the works. I think we can expect Halo 6 in fall 2017.

Crackdown is the game I'm least interested in of those four mentioned in the thread title. That's pretty good. Glad to be an Xboner for this Gamescom.
(I'm also a WiiUner and a PS4ore)

I wasn't referring to Halo 6.

Look at the previous announcements:

Halo 3 - E3 2006
Halo Wars - X06

Halo ODST - TGS 2008 (before Halo Wars was out)

Halo Reach - E3 2009 (before ODST was out)

Halo Combat Evolved - E3 2011
Halo 4 - E3 2011

Halo 5 - E3 2013
Halo MCC - E3 2014

They've never been afraid of having two Halo products announced at the same time, a mainline game and a spin-off or remaster, so I don't see why the pattern would change now, Halo 5 is out in 3 months I think its a big possibility.

343 have said they need 3 years to make a Halo game, so spin-off instead. Need something to full the gap

It takes 3 years to make Halo game.

Halo 3 reaches 10 years of age in 2017, think we get a third Anniversary title? It would allow for the regular full 3 year dev cycle for Halo 6 in 2018.

Awwww yisssss

Going to be a huge Gamescom.

My god, I'm ridiculously hyped. Thank god I'm off that day.

It will be interesting to see if Crackdown is still associated with " cloud processing " like it originally was. Was supposed to be the game that showcased what cloud processing was capable of wasn't it?

I'm also excited to see Scalebound. Always interested in a Kamiya project

No. Halo 3 is already on Xbox One, theres no need to do it for that reason alone.

We are getting Halo Wars 2 goddammit or I'm getting my Arbiter Action- Adventure game.
I would honestly love to see a red vs blue halo game with a whacky non cannon story line kinda like the show.
But it will never happen because Microsoft would likely see it as too much of a risk to take with the IP.

+ from a deleted translated tweet: "Those shits at MS... are they fucking with me...?"

FUCK. I have to revise my hype list now... I'll remove item#2 (Scalebound demo).

1) Extended Quantum Break demo. Finally provide a solid release date.
2) Extended Scalebound demo - we finally find out what genre the game will fall under
3) Extended Crackdown demo. Confirm that the game is not online only.

... and so on. I won't post the whole thing again, lol.
And I'm mostly joking. I do hope the tweet is nothing serious though

They probably want him to travel all the way to Germany just to drop a couple of lame sentences about Scalebound on stage and then piss off again

I would like to wait a few years for another halo to release. There was a good chunk of time between Halo 2 and Halo 3. That was nice for the multiplayer as it allowed people to get nice and settled in and such. And in between Halo 3 and Halo Reach was a few years as well. If Halo 5 multiplayer is as solid as the beta and as fun, yeah id like to wait it out a few years, like 2 or 3 before we see an update. Or just pull a Halo 3 ODST and release a single player game with the Halo 5 multiplayer content extras.

That's how I read it.

Another speculative interpretation would be that the game itself is not too far along and MS does not want the director making statements/promises that they cannot deliver later on.

There will be another Halo between 5 and 6. It takes 3 years to make a mainline Halo game, but MS wants Halo in your ear every year. Some type of Halo game will come out between 5 and 6

We shouldn't make a new thread about potentially major news on the grounds that people might 'troll' it? Sounds stupid to me.
Is obviously not major news, and there is already a thread for it

If it develops then obviously, but creating a thread for every single one of Kamiyas tweets is about as major as making one for Phil spencers

If Microsoft could revive silent hills and show their big three that would be more then enough for me, but I want to see more of that sexy dash as well.

It's not major news when someone working with Microsoft on a game publicly cusses them out?
