Gamescom: Microsoft press conference (August 4; Scalebound, Crackdown, QB, H5+ more)

MS Gamescom conference is shaping to be better than their E3 conference, something I really didn't expect from MS.

A Banjo game by Press Play could be pretty great. I've been playing Max and the Curse of Brotherhood over the last few days and it's really fun. I'd totally be fine with PP making a Banjo game.

Quantum Break hype!

Scalebound and Crackdown are my most anticipated gameplay reveals. I'd also love to see more of Quantum Break, Recore, and Sea of Thieves.

I have a feeling Rare is going to announce a new Battletoads, not Banjo.

I hope they keep the strategy of E3 for games coming out this year and Gamescom for following year games

It's not gonna work next year I think, It only worked this year because MS stuffed most their games in Fall. Next year games seems to be more evenly distributed.

A couple of weeks ago at E3, we gave fans their first look at the greatest lineup in Xbox history
They mean the RARE collection, right? Maybe along with all those 360 games. Because nothing else at E3 fits this.

I'm excited to see Scalebound gameplay. If MS can actually manage to not interfere with Platinum, then we might see the first 'must-have' XBO exclusive. So far MS have made not owning an XBO very easy indeed, and I kinda wish they would occasionally give me cause to reconsider.

Excited for everything.

ESPECIALLY Quantum Break.

But gimme dat Scalebound and Crackdown.

ReCore and Sea of Thieves as well.

Hopefully a Blue Team demo from Halo 5 showcasing the more open environments and squad work of the greatest generation of Spartans :D

I'd also be curious to see a tease of Lionhead's New IP and Twisted Pixel and Press Play's new IPs.

MS's Gamescom looks incredibly strong new IP wise.

I want more of Quantum Break.

I wanna see how Crack Down is gonna be.

And I can't wait to see Platinum Games next masterpiece ScaleBound.

That's pretty optimistic given how this gen has gone.

Quantum Break is early 2016. Scalebound is probably the first half of 2016. Cuphead is likely early 2016. ReCore is supposed to be Spring 2016.

So while some of this is speculation, I'd say MS is at least trying to have a strong lineup throughout 2016 as opposed to stuffing it all in the fall.

Well with games like QB, SB and CD3 (abbreviations ftw) it's not really that hard heh. I can't wait to finally see some gameplay for all three games, Microsoft will have GC on lock. Sony can have that Paris Game Week thing.

Was Rare Replay handled in house? I assume that they had a small team work on it, so I can definitely see the other 1/3 working on another IP. Doubt it will be shown but it would be amazing if it came out of nowhere.

They are doing it in-house with a couple of external partners (one being 4J Studios, if their twitter is anything to go by). They seem to be dabbling in Unity and working on prototypes for it, even if some of the 30~ people not on Sea of Thieves do move over to it after RR, I still think there is the big possibility of them making one or two smaller games for it.

If Banjo is coming and its not Rare, I suspect it will be made by an external development team, I do not think it will have anything to do with PP or TP.

Was there a better lineup of Xbox exclusives in any other year? Genuinely curious.

2007 was a behemoth of a year, it will be difficult for them to ever match it but I think next year they just might

Forza 2, PGR4, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Shadowrun, Crackdown, Blue Dragon along with other smaller stuff and third-party exclusives like Bioshock and Lost Planet

Using a known IP to promote the "power of the cloud" is a mistake IMO. Especially considering that the Crackdown series has never been about destructable environments. It's not worth it if it makes your game dependent on an online service to work.

So the cloud isn't worth it if you have to use the cloud to play the game? That makes ... no sense, given that the game will likely be built for it. You're gonna be online to utilize a core facet of the game.

Also Inside, and Below look to be first half of 2016.

Haven't been that much interested in PlatinumGames previous efforts but will be interesting to what kind of game they are making this time.
Wasn't keen on the first 2 Crackdowns, only really interested in that to see in the cloud is the real deal or just a pie in the sky.
Hopefully Sea Of Thieves shows something that gets me hyped for it.
Quantum Break should be good though.

I really think that MS will work with Sakaguchi on something this Gen . They been going back to a lot of people they previously worked with

I think the release order for the "Big 6" will be:

Quantum Break (Q1), ReCore (Q1), ScaleBound (Q2), Crackdown (Q2), Sea of Thieves (Q3), Gears 4 (Q4)

At least that would be awesome to have those games come out like that throughout the year and make 2016 awesome first party wise.

EDIT: Obviously we will know more about Q3/Q4 titles next year's E3.

EDIT: Fixed and added Gears 4.
