I think there will be a few surprises. Maybe nothing huge but definitely something.

Besides, with the current announced lineup we won't need many surprises for it to be a fun conference.

Here's a handy table I made so you can keep a track of the various Gamescom conferences this week in your timezones. Please shout out if there are any errors.

Here's the Spoiler-Free and Archive Gamescom 2015 Thread. Enjoy.

It would be super cool if we could see a Rare IP revival tomorrow (from Rare or another developer) but I'm not expecting it. Would be nice to go alongside the release of Rare Replay though!

I'm just happy we're finally going to see Scalebound gameplay, everything else is gravy.

If I had to guess those surprises they'd be maybe one AA game on the scale of Screamride last year plus some indies. I highly doubt any AAA game reveals.

New content doesn't equal new game reveals. They'll have reveals I'm sure but not for AAA games.

They'll have a reveal or two.

You're right, they don't have to be AAA, but they'll still be new games.

I can't imagine where you're going to move the goal post next, but I'm curious to see how creative you get.

Are we going to pretend this didn't happen:
Kotaku: Rare HD collection is coming to Xbox One

ReCore is not going to be shown.

Wasn't that the day of the briefing? Come on...

They really hyped up Gamescom this year. I'd like to think there will be some surprises.

I never saw that Kotaku Rare article...I'm glad I didn't. That was a wonderful surprise at E3.

My thoughts exactly.

Yeah I haven't moved any goalposts at all. You can do without accusing people of shit, I don't even know why you're saying that.

I'm expecting Scalebound and Crackdown gameplay to be the main event, with demos of QB and Halo, maybe TR. I don't expect any big announcements of games, it'll be smaller scale announcements of indies and stuff like Screamride last year. I don't expect Rare to have a big presence. I don't think Gears will show up.

Thats my first post in this thread. Literally the exact thing I've been saying the whole time.

Phil Spencer said at the end of Microsoft E3 conference that they have new first party games to announce at Gamescom.

That's going to be interesting. Wasn't a big fan of 360's IPs like Fable and Gears, but I came into it from a Nintendo/Sony perspective and didn't give them a chance beyond a demo.

Crackdown, that was actually pretty fun.

so how long does something leak, to kill the megaton?

edit: i love flash, hes only getting better with gifs, bring on E3 2016

I guess most people didn't know or suspect anything about Rare Replay before the day of E3, so my bad. Carry on guys

EDIT: Oh well, cboat is here.

So we can reasonably assume we will see the following:

Quantum Break, finally
Scalebound, finally
Crackdown, finally
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Forza Motorsport 6
Halo 5

and then some new IP announcements?

I wonder what brand new IPs they could announce, and what studios they could be from. Hopefully at least one new AAA IP - but don't get me wrong, I would more than welcome a smaller new IP from Twisted Pixel or Press Play, for example (I love those devs).
