Is this 31 min of developers on couches playing and talking about the game?
I've become anti developer on couches lately.

Man it's crazy how bad this looks. I wish they would have just done POE 3 and put more effort into it like BG3 did. They have the ability to do that to if they were given the time and resources. Well maybe not exactly on the level of BG3 but I think they could get close.

You cant do a complex CRPG when your owners are a console manufacturer...BG3 with all it's bells and whistle is not a game to be played on console....We had here a guy who wanted 3rd person mode for a crpg on PC....

Karen with the nose ring has all the enthusiasm of a rock. Why are all these Gamescom presenters women who seem to be reading every single reaction to everything shown off notes?

This entire format is dull as fuck.

I played it on console and loved it. I also played it on PC. Both with a controller. I think they could have pulled it off.

I don't think that has much to do with it. PoE 1 and 2 weren't huge hits. Baldur's Gate 3 is probably the only successful CRPG, certainly the only big budget one for like decades.

Nothing in that video looked fun. It feels mechanically dead, like someone who thinks they know classic RPG's are making an RPG. Old Obsidian team is prolly long gone.

This came across as a little muted in gameplay, but in a similar way to the Outer Worlds, which I really liked. So I think it will be fine story/RPG wise. But what kills it for me is knowing technically its releasing as a 30fps first person experience. Which I just dont do. So I'm out.

If I'm reading that right, there's 32 abilities to level up at the 8:30 mark, each with 3 tiers. And that's just the Wizard tab which looks like 1 of 5 tabs. That's massive.

Underwater exploration is nice around 12 min in.

13:55, sneak attacks and stealth are in.

Looks like he's using a back dash quite a bit around 19 min in to fight the miniboss. Better than the perpetual backwards running in most FPS RPG combat.

No thanks. Scripted BS by the worst people to display a product in development. Community manager and narrative designer...JHC.

Obsidian should really REALLY take lessons from Larian on how to demonstrate a game.

I would say keep an eye on that, neither of the 2 guys that spoke about it said they're the best people to answer that question.

yep, that's what I saw earlier today thinking I'm going for a hands on. While it doesn't look bad - it just so totally not my cup of tea I don't know what to make of it. There is a cool system of pullin lore data from Pillars of Eternity, I think more games should do something like that

Looks like it has good deal of exploration and skill checks everywhere.

Great to see.

Also I liked the way game is shown here, no shills, just devs being themselves.

I'm not sure what's the point of all those electricity, fire, etc roadblocks. They are not puzzles if it tells you exactly what you need, and it seems like they were wanted to do Breath of the Wild, but then thought people will be too stupid to figure it out by themselves.

In terms of level design blocking a path for the sake of using some ability isn't very creative. Maybe it's early on.

Alright, let's see it. I am still on the edge with this one. So maybe this footage can finally help me decide.

WoW still stinks with a controller and Diablo has auto aim for every attack, so you can't really do...
Haven't tried WoW yet but FFXIV is smooth as butter. Diablo 3 works near flawlessly too. I get it might be user choice for input but people go way overboard on how something isn't playable.

FFXIV is very simplified WoW and as I said Diablo has auto aim for everything plus I can't control the range of some skills. So if you "downgrade" stuff it can be playable but the downgraded stuff are gone.

I'm failing to see the excitement over this game. I mean it was puzzling already when the announcement trailer came out that showed no gameplay and everyone was going gaga over it.

WoW has had many ability squishes throughout the years to make it easily playable on controller. It doesn't solve every issue like dealing with targeting circles you have to place, but it's more than feasible even during more difficult content.

Hell people were doing WoW on controller a long, long ass time ago before it got the current support it does back when there were tons more shit for your class.
