I met Hideo Kojima back in an industry event in Koln in the autumn of 2006, where he was signing autographs for fans.
The queue was abating towards the end of the night and Kojima was talking in Japanese to a management type, so I walked up. I shook him by the hand and said I just wanted to quickly thank him for his games, and he smiled and nodded and said something quietly about me being too kind. The manager turned away to look down the hall, and Kojima suddenly gripped my hand tighter than I ever though possible, so much so that I let out a tiny yelp, and pulled me right next to his face to whisper 'Everything I do is pain'. All the love had gone from his eyes. The manager turned around, but by that time Kojima has let go of me and was smiling and nodding and mumbling something in broken English; 'so kind, th-thank you', etc.
I watched him from afar, other fans occasionally coming to greet him. My hand was still red the next day.

If Kojima and his team leaves Konami, the future Metal Gear made by Konami are still canon or no?
Note to self, never go to GAF for stock advice. smfh
IGA is gone
Akari Uchida is gone
Mino Taro is gone
And now Kojima...
Who's left? Team Silent?
Damn, -0.63%. Huge drop for sure. Konami will sure feel sorry when their Five Nights at Freddy's style Silent Hill mobile game recycled out of old abandoned Silent Hills assets makes that back in the first 20 minutes.
What about MGO's future support?
So metal gear rising 2 cancelled?

How can konami survive...though maybe they can fold and pass off Yugioh to Bushiroad.

Konami really should have broadened its development strategy instead of putting so much pressure on Kojima to prop them up.
Even with an icon like Miyamoto, Nintendo has done a good job of diversifying its talent.
Rising 2 shouldn't be affected since that's mostly on Platinum's side.
So with Konami kind of struggling in games after his departure, what are the chances they just sell off their properties? IGA gets Castlevania, Kojima gets MGS (which he might not want to do anymore), etc? Everyone wins?

What about Silent Hills?
In other developments, Konami has begun removing the Kojima Productions logo from all official Metal Gear art, and it has removed Kojima from its executive team. Meanwhile, Kojima Productions’ branding has also been removed from Twitter, the official Metal Gear website, and even the LA office listing.

His point stands and you're agreeing with him, just debating semantics.
MGS was the last major series Konami had that actually sold consistently and was viewed favorably. They've destroyed just about every other IP they have, or let them stagnate to the point that Kojima was basically the face and soul of Konami.
Konami is just a husk of shit now.
