Otogi didn't get listed for best graphics:artistic and yet wow was there. I like the way WOW looks but Otogi shits on it (along with Paper Mario etc.)

Best use? No. You could not beat the shit out of Vin Diesel, take his wallet and leave him dead in an alley for the whores to feast on , therefore it is not the best use.

How is Halo 2 better then UT2004 for Multiplayer? Please, somebody enlighten me.
Probably because of how painless Halo 2 multiplayer is, and also how many people are playing it at any given moment (I never have trouble getting into a game with 12-16 people). Just my guess anyway. I was up until 4AM playing it again last night.... wheee.... ohhhh.... sleeeepy.

I guess CS should have won Best Multiplayer game then, seeing as though there's always at least 70,000 players online, and Steam makes joining a game simple.

From a technical and gameplay point of view; UT2004 Onslaught > Any of of Halo 2 modes.

This isn't even mentioning LMS, Assault, DM, TDM, CTF, Bombing Run and the dozens of top-tier mods like Deathball. Seriously, there is no competition between a great console FPS, and a great PC FPS.

Can't they just call it "The EA Award"

Halo 2 is better if you have friends over, UT online.

I would agree with you if UT didn't have a LAN mode.

I would agree if my friends all had computers, UT, etc. that they lugged around everywhere they went and weren't just normal people who play and enjoy games once in a while.

Hey, that's cool, Halo is great for that kind of thing. I'm arguing the award here, for technical aspects. If the award was given simply for how mass market friendly Halo is, then that's fair enough.

Well I don't think being able to get together with 3 friends and play a fun game in front of the TV is exactly irrelevant to any "multiplayer" debate (if it were, that would bode quite badly for GC, the system which imo has the best multiplayer games regardless of the general lack of Internet functionality) and nothing but "mass market friendly" (though, yes, it does appeal to many people, so let's not consider it) as you seem to want to patronizingly characterize it.

I'm not being patronizing. It's patronizing to think people actually think Halo 2 in an ideal multiplayer environment is better then pretty much any PC FPS in an ideal multiplayer environment.

My Girlfriend's brother has Halo, I play it with him, we have fun. The game is good, but it is no UT.

Edit: And by pretty much any, I specifically mean the decent FPS's, heh. BF, Tribes, Q3, MOH, COD, ET, etc. God knows there's a shitload of bad ones, though.

You're right. UT is much better.

Seriously though I get what you're saying (H2's multiplayer ease), but UT is still a much better experience overall.

You're dismissing consideration of an entire kind of multiplayer that hundreds of thousands of people enjoy as irrelevant because it's not a part of "technical aspects." I, OTOH, distinguished between the two and gave at least a reasonable amount of recognition to both and stated that I think Halo is better for one and UT better for the other. Why you feel this consideration is irrelevant when considering a game's multiplayer qualities is mind-boggling to me, particularly considering it's the only multiplayer many great multiplayer games have. To me, Monkey Ball, SSBM, etc. are all "technically" great multiplayer games, unless you imply "technical" to mean "plays well on the Internet," which is a far too exclusive definition.

Wait, MGS 3 got best story? I just assumed it was more of the same garbage from mgs 2.

I bet lots of people assume this, seeing how the game sold pretty bad... :|

Also, your assumption is wrong

Not listing Metroid Prime 2 for Graphcs (Artistic) was just criminal.

I've always liked the gamespot "Game of the Year" awards but this year it certainly feels like everything went down the crapper. Least something doesn't feel right. Well at the moment its just what I listed above, I'll wait for the other awards to pass judgement.

Best Graphics Technical - DOOM 3

WTF? I have been playing Riddick on PC the last few days and it blows Doom 3 out the water. The textures are much sharper & more detailed and the lighting is just as good as D3. The characters are nicer too. I really dont understand how they came to that decision.
