Same. This is ironic and sad, considering that my local store confirmed that all reserves will be confirmed on Friday, in addition to maybe a couple of extra units. I hate GameStop, although they may not even be at fault. First GoW last week (two days late, but still... it's bullsh*t) and now with the PS3. I even bought an HDMI cable last night in order to have it shipped to my house by Friday...

This sucks. At least I shouldn't have too much trouble getting a Wii (knock on wood).

ebay won't be that bad as far as getting your money back. paypal froze all PS3/Wii auction payments and if someone withdraws the money AFTER knowing they won't get a system, well, they are pretty ****ed then as far as ebay/paypal actions go. granted it will take 30-60 days to get it all resolved, but that person is already out their $1500 from the end of auction. they just have to wait a little longer to get it back.

I don't blame Gamestop. If Sony promised them X amount of consoles per store and they failed to satisfy X amount of pre-orders, then the onus is on them - not GS/EB.

I dont think anyone should get into a fuss over this, Yah its nice to be the first but there really isnt anything that you have to play immediately. I remember feeling the same way about the 360 launch. As long as you can get a hold of Zelda day one, no gamer should go unfed.

To my recollection, when 360 launch shipments fell short, Gamestop even allowed cash refunds for those who paid deposits with credit cards and trade (breaking with policy).

they might offer the 20 gig units to people higher in the line than you first. i'm not sure what'd be the fairest thing.

glad i don't have to make those calls. after the gears **** up last week (not their fault) and now this, (also not their fault) i can't imagine store owners and clerks are feeling too happy about november so far

I'm trying not to do that. I have a little bit of empathy for my fellow gamers.

I went through this exact same cluster **** last year with the 360 launch. And yes, it was a cluster **** of epic proportions then, and its a cluster **** of epic proportions now. Getting my pre-order pushed back then scrambling to camp a retail store for 14 hours on a launch night where it was 23 degrees outside - is not something I'm going to do again for any game system. I'll wait until next spring/summer for the PS3.

I don't want to shop for games at some big eletronics/toy store. You have to go in and weave your way around until you get to the games section. With Gamestop/EB, you walk in and the games are right there. =P

You're joking, right? TRU is at the bottom of the major retailers, especially when it comes to Sony. They'll be the first to have shipments cut, they're just not important enough to know about it yet.

Gamestop/EB don't actually make consoles. They have no control over this. And seeing as how they are second or third in importance for this launch (behind BB + maybe Walmart) don't expect anyone else to get their promised shipments either.
