Gaming on a 21inch/ 51cm TV

Well I was looking to get a 51cm Flat Screen TV to use in my bedroom and for system linking it’s a convenient size. I have seen plenty of decent sets around for great prices.

Any recommendations?

I know the sound would suck but I have a decent stereo in my room to hook it up!

Potentially it would also get used for some split screen gaming because I don’t want to drive my bro crazy when I and my mates hog the normal set.

Anyway is split screen bearable on such a small screen? Because it’s been awhile since I have used such a small telly for gaming.

Has nobody purchased a similar set for a similar reason?

I wouldn’t want to get a TV any bigger because it would look ghastly and take up way too much room, and it wouldn’t be able to get tucked away nicely.

I've played Halo co op extensively on a 20 inch tv. I think its fine but it depends on how big of a tv your used to playing it on. If your going from a big tv to the small one then you may not like it as much but I don't think it will be a big deal.

I have a tv that I have purchased for exactly the same reasons that you are looking at getting one for.

It's a 51cm Sony flat screen mono TV, and I was very happy with the purchase, at first I thought it was a bit exorbitant and was also worried about being able to play with my brother split-screen on it but it's been worth it.

The mono sound hasn't been a problem because (like yourself) I've had my consoles plugged into a stereo system whilst using it, and the picture has been great, I find it easier to see a lot of games on this screen than larger ones due to the great picture it can put out.

Multiplayer games haven't been a problem on it either, I recently had it down at a mates place (another good reason for a small tv, reasonably portable) for a Halo 2 lan we had the other night and we had 4 players on it without any complaints about screen size at all (we were sitting quite close to the TV though).

It's worth it, but make sure you get a set with a decent picture, I recommend the Sony.
