I'm interested and if you are willing to share with us, what kind of rules you have when it comes to starting a more physical relationship with a man you have chosen. What ever you want to disclose.
For me I'm comfortable with kissing a guy on the lips on the first date but when we enter genital territory I become more strict. I don't share that with just anybody so I need time to know more about the person and for my feelings to grow for said guy, then I share this personal and intimate experience with this man.

Somewhat similar to your own, I guess, only involving more time and involvement. I wouldn't even feel comfortable kissing someone until I knew them fairly well, and sex much further down that road. For myself, sex doesn't exist without genuine love, commitment, honesty... It's all theoretical anyway since these opportunities have never presented themselves to me in the first place.

When I say "rules," it's kind of an internal wink-wink nod-nod as I think back to that stupid, stupid mistake with two friends last year, how angry and depressed it made me, and why I'd rather not have something like it happen again.

I'm pretty 'traditional' but it's for purely deliberate and pragmatic reasons as it's not really in my instincts to be that way. I've always tended to be more of an iconoclast, which tended to mean "anything goes", but my philosophy has changed since then and with it my choice of approach. So it's more that I'm trying to exercise restraint or some measure of renunciation in all areas of my life as per the whole Buddhist thing. Prior to that, while I wouldn't exactly call myself promiscuous or a strong hedonist, I didn't really have many guidelines and I would just do whatever I felt like at the time. That's generally still my tendency, just to feel things out and respond to all situations impulsively as if on auto-pilot, but maybe I was too excessive with that because I found that that tended to lead to me catering to my less noble inclinations, and I basically found it to be pretty empty and unsatisfying. Like without restraint I began to take my impulses for granted and it kind of undermined my strength of character. Basically I need some level of moderation, but moderation is something I've habituated myself against, so I began to enforce some guidelines as a practical measure to see that happen, and ones motivated entirely by philosophical reasoning.

So now it's basically no sex or anything unless I'm in an LTR that I feel really confident about. Basically my position is that love should be unconditional, and lust is entirely conditional. To blindly follow lust is to encourage the habit and to make it a bigger part of myself, and on principle that is something that I don't want. So the only way to elevate lust is to restrain it, and direct it in a loving way... so basically the ideal is to love everyone unconditionally, but to lust only after one

On the earlier (off) topic of UFC/MMA fighters; I forgot about 'War Machine' (Jon Koppenhaver). Good looking guy and good fighter too; but quite troubled and loved getting into fights outside the ring and even ended on jail; for which he had to be around a year until this past July.
