To those of you who have online dating profiles, how much info do you put into your profile? I've tried to be as descriptive as possible, but I see other people with maybe 3-5 lines and nothing else. I wonder if that works. Or if that's just for the beautiful people.

Pretty much this. If someone is still getting a lot of messages with a three line profile then it's probably due to his or her looks. I think it's just better to be descriptive whether you're beautiful or not. I think it makes it more likely that people would message you because you guys share some interests or he was genuinely interested in who you are instead of just how you look. It's also very possible that your profile might turn some people off, but that's probably a good thing since you want someone that will accept who you are.

In thinking about what I'd write for an OKC profile I've come to the realization that I'm a pretty boring person.

Also I realized nobody answered my prior question: Is it confirmation bias on my part, or do certain fetishes (such as piss) appear more commonly in gay individuals than they do in straight individuals?

So, it seems to be a combination of:
1. Nice pictures (face and chest at least)
2. General info (height, weight, etc)
3. Hobbies and stuff you like

I think I spend over 80% of my freetime on GAF.

I do plan to change this though. I joined an anime club, a tabletop RPG club, and an lgbt club. I also got involved with a group that plays SSBB on Thursdays for a few hours.

Mine are no biggies; and were with 2 guys I met in on of those "random" things online.

Guy #1. Went to visit him in his office, made out in there with the secretary at like 3 feet from us and a window where eveyrone passing could see what was going on. (guy was 6'3" and all muscles, so I had to!! )

Guy #2. Started making out in the movie theater (watching that Lindsay Lohan movie, 'Just my Luck'); ended making out in his car on the expressway and he ended stopping the car even once; in the middle of it (with the emergency lights on ).

Guy #1 was the closest overall I've had as a date, as we went out again and even invited me dinner once. But he dissapeared after metting for the third time. Guy #2, just disappeared after that one time.

Overall, I think people are cruel/mean just because they can. Doesn't help that it wasn't like I received positive responses to counter those negatives ones. For example, one message (once) was a guy telling me basically that I had a nice body, but an ugly face and because of that, that if I got a peelling and shaved my face; that maybe then I could contact him....Yep.

But there's always luck involved. The 6'3" guy I mentioned above, met randomly in one of thsoe sites and it wasn't till months later that we started talking again and decided to meet. An whiel it was cool while it lasted (under 2 months); the result was still disappointing; but expected.

I asked an ex-teacher of mine out on a date, like a week after the classes were done. I did it because I was convinced that he was gay and he had the hots for me. I was correct but unfortunately he was still a teacher and he considered it unethical and people could use that information to harm his career. Man he was hot.

When I was sent to a remote town (thanks to my job), there was this guy , sexy cute and all, he was the one that hired the internet service for that hotel like community, when I arrived I didnt know the password or where the telephone was or anything. to make this short: one day I was complaining about my pc and the wireless connection problems and without asking he volunteered to fix it, i was hoping he didn't find anything so he could stay there more time. Sadly he didn't find anything and he had to leave, so in that instant as he was opening the door I ran to it, slammed it and the told him "sit down i have a question to ask now!!!"..."are you? yes or no? NOW TELL MEEE!!!!!" after a few seconds of being scared by the door slam XD he nodded. Now we laugh about that day and the door slam that was heard all over the place

And the second thing: trying to ask nurse guy for a date. Three times I've tried and 3 times he was not at the hospital, one of the nurses gave me his email, but I just want to do it face to face, soon I will gather all the courage to do it again

I think it's partly because homosexuality will likely always be something of a 'fringe' sexuality. Being only recently accounted for within society we sort of have carte blanche to work within the confines of what we're Ok with, instead of being so concerned about things like propriety. Accepting ourselves as gay is already one such transgression, of a kind, so maybe it makes later ones easier? I think we're perhaps more likely to have a kind of natural 'iconoclasm' in regards to sex, and perhaps other things.
