haha yeah, now situations like these are mystifying to me. i have no idea what you're meant to do when this happens, if anything at all. do those people jus wanna stare for fun? i know i do it because it's enjoyable to make eye contact sometimes but i never take it further
For real. If you're going to stare at me for one hour it'd be nice if you could get closer and say hi (at the risk of my head exploding, I guess).

When this happened to me and if I'm interested (ie the guy is a hottie), I eventually just sidle up to them wherever we're at (bus, Barnes & Nobel, etc) and just say "wanna grab some coffee?". If it goes well there, and they're interesting, or just hot enough to ignore that they are not all that interesting, I exchange numbers and take it from there.
You seem pretty confident, haha, you're definitely right that convincing yourself that the flirting is being directed at you has to be helpful. But, man, I'd be terrified to do that (approaching and asking him out). I'm usually pretty confident when it doesn't involve flirting, but I swear I turn to ultra-shy mode when it happens. Lack of experience has to be a huge factor.

I finally started Paper Mario Sticker Star and it's okay for now, albeit a little bland on the graphics.
It's amazing, gorgeous and my GOTY 2012. Love love love it, I want to play it again (now in Spanish, lol) now. And by far the best music in any Paper Mario game.

Wait, wait. Maybe he meant he felt bad and is playing SMG to cheer up.

Didn't really want a Wii but my brother gave me his old one for xmas since he got himself a Wii U (yes he's that cheap). Got 54 stars so far and on Freezeflame Galaxy. Man Bouldergeist's Daredevil run was a bitch to complete. I could knock him down easy the first round, but it was his second round kept kicking my ass.

But you did it. Well done.

Love the game, but it's very easy once you get the used to the controls (except for some of the last 60 stars).

Play SMG2 later. It's much better for difficulty (though not that different, the levels are better though).

How is that cheap? He bought an expensive new console and gave you a console for free. For FREE.

Lol a system I had shown no interest in having. Plus for my last b-day, he got me $15 best buy gift card. Or xmas 2011, he got me dragonage 2.... a sequel to a game I hadn't even played at the time. It's a pattern.

Don't have it (and before you ask, I'm broke so I can't just go out and buy it). The games I got with it are SMG, New Super Mario Bros Wii, and SSB Brawl.

Read my last post and take it to heart. :)

Fuck it. It's too important, I'm moving it to this page.

One of my best long term relationships started with playing eye games in a bookstore during a signing for Clive Barker.

Learn to sieze the opportunities, and gay dating is not hard at all. Hell, guys who are flirting have already opened the door for you. :)

I cannot express this advice strongly enough. Just think in your head "of course he's into me" until you start believing it. It fucking works.

that honestly sounds completely invigorating. i think being successful in that approach also requires being able to brush off the occasional rejection and that's the aspect where i fall down, but i'm confident that as i become more experienced i'll also get less bummed out in those moments.

i appreciate that advice a lot, thanks

Well.. since you already have the Wii you might as well enjoy it.

I'd suggest Zelda Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. The Wii has a lot of really awful games but a few great ones as well. Honestly, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World is my favorite. I haven't played Xenoblade but people swear its great. Give the Wii a chance.

Just use the trick, and you can do anything. Hell, the door has already been opened by them flirting with you. Way easier than a cold call. Give it a try. I wasn't always this confident.

Definitely not. and Wow.. Krypt0.. so rugged and masculine.. love the mustache :)

Ah cheers, man. I'm still working on the look. Adding the handlebar was a risk two months back, but believe me its paid off bigtime in terms of attention, and aggressive flirting. Best decision in ages. I think it suits me.

My best friend calls it butch drag, but he's an asshole! LOL

It is still driving me mad that multiple people have said I don't look at all like I post. O_o

That's the thing, like I said to rm88, rejection is not likely to happen as they've bust the door wide open with the initiation of the flirting, especially if it's over a few minutes and not just a quick smile. Think this way, if they do say no, at least you took a positive step and put it out there when there obviously was a mutual attraction. That should give you confidence in less sure circumstances.

Confidence is an RPG grindfest, but it's one that can be so fucking enjoyable while you level up.

I'm just glad to help.

Man krypt0nian, I love you mustache. Looking good.

Cheers, man. Two months into it and digging the experience. The weird part is having friends come onto me now. Freaking me out.

Damned stache groupies. ;)

Just shaved my chin furr yesterday to make my buddies on the handlebar forums happy. I've had a trimmed stache for a long time, but always with some chin furr to balance it out. Feels funny to give the handlebar the whole stage.

Already have TP for the 'Cube and SS (like Metroid: Other M) looks awful.

Some Wii favorites: Super Paper Mario (possibly my favorite home console game of the generation), Brawl, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Galaxy 2, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Shiren The Wanderer, Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon, Opoona, Mario Kart Wii (not my favorite MK, but MK is good even when it's bad), Wario Land: Shake It!, Dokapon Kingdom, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Twilight Princess, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Samurai Shodown Anthology, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus, Castle of Shikigami III, Mega Man 9/10, Lost in Shadow.

I also liked Castlevania Judgement a lot despite its flaws, but I really can't recommend this when most people hate it. And it reminds me, I need to play Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth (and La-Mulana for that matter).

Will try :) And I agree that the moustache really fits you!

I completely forgot about Wario Land: Shake It! and Marumasa, had wanted to play them both but never got around to it. Come to think of it, there's a good handful of Wii games I never got around to, SMG2 included (I know, I know). I'll have to take care of that once I cut down my current backlog a bit.

with all this hobbit fever going on i decided to re-watch FOTR and i was completely knocked back by how gorgeous it is. elijah wood has such a delicate and empathetic face, i love the way jackson captures him in those close-ups with his wide, blue eyes. damm

it's basically 3 hours of beautiful people looking melancholic with an enya song at the end. my perfect film p much

Not a Wii game. GC game ported to wii. Yes, I know I'm being pedantic but I reserve the right to be :)

I could not love the films more, including the wonderful An Unexpected Journey. I'd live in Middle Earth if I could. I've been infatuated since the 4th grade when ate Hobbit was an assigned book. <3

It's still good :P I mean, I listed Samurai Shodown Anthology there.

That Wii list is missing DKC Returns.
And Kirby's Return to Dream Land. Which I loved (big Kirby fanboy), but not as much as Epic Yarn (or Mass Attack on DS which is my favorite Kirby game since Dream Land 3). Also No More Heroes 2, Rygar: The Battle of Argus, KOF Collection: The Orochi Saga, Punch-Out!, Animal Crossing, Baroque, Zack & Wiki and others. It was just a quick list :P

^ And Sin & Punishment!

I just got Lost in Shadow last week (now I have about ~80 Wii games, without counting WiiWare stuff D: )

I did not know anyone existed that liked that game! I never owned a Wii so I can't comment on the other games but that Paper Mario game was just not like the GC one when I played it at a friends house.

The game got a weird amount of flak for being different. Sticker Star is praised "despite" being different, but SPM is criticized "because" of it. Does not compute.

And I agree with SPM being great. And basically all of that list.
I increasingly want you to marry me, Rm88.

It's turn-based sorta, but it gets rid of helpers, level ups, etc. So it's basically a subcategory of its own.

Someone on gaming side compared it to a Zelda game. Not really a RPG cept for the turn based stuff but far more puzzle based.

Other M is not even really a Nintendo game and it has horrible controls . The gam redefines Samus.

Skyward Sword has some of the best boss battles and dungeons in the entire series.

The two are not even comparable.

Bleh, comparing Skyward Sword to Other M is an insult to the Zelda team :/ (and I say this as someone who enjoyed Other M). Skyward Sword has a few flaws but it's certainly not a terrible game.

And Wii haters, bleh too.

Also I must be the only person who never had an issue with the motion controls in SMG. I loved the rolling ball levels actually.

The only real problem with Skyward Sword was that it, like Twilight Princess, had too long of a tutorial. As someone who really enjoyed the Wii, I can't wait to get a Wii U. Can't wait!

Wii was good. Not only-console-to-own material since it got mostly niche games, but I would have cried if I had to go PS3 only this gen. And ultimately DS owns both pretty hard.

SPM is fantastic and I'll lol forever at the hate it got from not being TTYD2. It wasn't negatively received, it didn't bomb, the hate comes from a very vocal internet minority it seems. And lol, Kangi, let's have a SPM themed wedding then.
