Hm. Anyone want to take a crack at giving the clothes in my avatar a rainbow pattern? Think it would look better than the rainbow filter it had before.

like this??

edit: dang, dropbox sucks, here's the link to download, you have to use the direct download option or for some reason it hecks up the transparency???

This is from the same friends of a friend I mentioned a while back

I shall never move back to america. I see now that my rights as a christian citizen in the states is less than a christian foriegner in japan.

And I was kinda mulling it over, but I'd someone wants to rainbow-ify my avatar (i think rainbow mane ought to do it), I'll proudly display it.

i would say good riddance and that they can go to Belize or Uganda or Russia or some shit but its not very nice to dump the worst shit America has on someone elses lap.

If someone could kindly hit beach bum goomba with some pride that'd be amazing.

And man, it's so weird working with older white folks who I know lean right. I keep walking into conversations where they ask softball shit to see how I react so they know where I stand.

You know, this is where I call bullshit on my fellow Christians. Im sorry, but how does granting rights to other people infringe on YOUR rights?
Like what kind of logic is that? "Making somebody else more free takes away my freedom!"

I think they assume churches will be forced to provide gay marriages.

This thread. Oh my god it's so good. I have to read everything! <3

Edit:
On that note, could someone rainbow my avatar please? :3

Because marriage HAS to happen in a church. Why would these people think that gays would want to get married in a place that doesn't welcome them. Even prior to this did churches have to marry anyone, I thought it was all a choice

They believe that "not being allowed to be a homophobic asshole with zero consequences from anyone forever" is a fundamental infringement of their religious rights.

That's really it. They want to be as hateful to gay people as they have always been, publicly, vocally, and they never want anyone to be able to say so much as yah boo sucks back to them.

Anything short of this total carte blanch is a massive attack on Christianity by the Gaystapo, in their eyes.

Yeah, it's really dumb. Individual ministers/priests can refuse to perform marriages for literally any reason, even racial discrimination.

I guess so few of these people have seen churches turn away interracial couples so they don't know that, but it used to be very common and it still happens today.

I am happy for all of those people that just got their rights, honestly it is a major step forward for all of us.

After reading through this thread, I also apologize for all of these conservative dickbags who completely ignore the main message of Christianity, which is love and acceptance.

I firmly believe that is the message God gave, and people twisted it into what it is now for their own ends throughout the years.

For now I shall enjoy and shake my head at all this amazing salt. I'm laughing and crying at the same time.

Not sure if you're aware (or were being sarcastic), but marriage doesn't have to happen in a church at all. It's a simple document that has to be officiated, and that's it. All the pomp and ceremony that happens at a church is, well... just that. Ceremony, window dressing. Some people *do* want all that ceremony though, understandably so. But it's hardly a requirement for marriage.

You can get married behind a dumpster if you want, as long as the paperwork checks out, and was officiated by an officially licensed minster of the state. That includes pagan minsters, as long as they have a congregation.

And yes, it's a choice of the church who they want to marry. But if a business decides to discriminate against someone due to their orientation, that's where society needs to decide what's acceptable, and what isn't.

Oh no, I'm just thinking maybe state-level secession discussions, terror attacks, hate crimes, etc.

All sponsored and fueled by conservative politicians who know that feeding their base this sort of paranoid garbage will lead to this sort of shit, but will do so because it's profitable and will win them votes.

Shame that tweet was deleted. I wanted to reply to it. I mean now there's only like 156,715 members left on NeoGAF now. We couldn't stand to lose anymore.

It's still there. I was curious so I read the rest of his tweets. He has gay friends he says, but yet still mostly(?) feels like this. It's such a strange position to me. If they're your friends, why on earth would you not want them to have the same rights you have? It's not like their rights remove yours or affect you in any way. Bizarre.

Which wont happen because the two are separate entities.
If a Church refuses to marry gays, it has the right to do that, but the govt is now obligated to consider all types of marriage. Like a gay couple can get married in Vegas, and never touch a holy bible in the process if they dont want to, only now the govt also recognizes that marriage as legally valid. Morals, ethics, religion, none of that even has to come into play at all. For some reason Christians cannot see that.

I was being sarcastic. And I'm ok with churches turning down gay weddings but no for businesses (even though church is kind of a business but thats a different story)

To avoid supporting same-sex marriage, a couple counties in Alabama (of course) have stopped granting ANY marriage licenses.

"You didn't win!"
Time for the federal government to come down hard on them then.

LOL, of course he did. He was getting hammered yesterday. I was one of them. Kept avoiding my question but I didn't expect him to have a logical answer anyways.

my roommates had a zombie themed wedding. It wasnt in a church or anything of the sort. Just a very small short ceremony in a local meeting hall. That marriage, entirely independent of religion, is seen as valid by the govt so why the heck not grant that right to all citizens? Its such a simple concept. It is literally one of the simplest concepts imaginable. It is literally people ashamed to admit a hangup and usig every excuse in the book not to have to deal with it on any level. It is straight up cowardice dressed as concern. It is fear dressed as dogma.

Since we haven't had a lot of videos being posted I'll throw in one. This is the youngest kid I have seen ranting so far. It's sad to see kids putting these kids of videos online and having these opinions.

It is sad to see, on a few different levels.

1. His parents are likely assholes.

2. Internet videos live forever. He's too young to be allowed to make such an ass out of himself for everyone to see.

3. "Gay people only want "gay marriage" so they can destroy the Catholic Church" ? He didn't come up with that himself. He's regurgitating something he heard an adult asshat say.

4. "All religions need to team up so we can "change" gay people" ? Wtf is this shit ?
