The last IGA game i played (after his other games), i enjoyed it, it has its flaws,like the music, but the graphics, sprites and bosses were nice, its a good game, even if not the best Castlevania.

HoD has one of the better level designs of the metroidvania games, and I think you get to explore two castles and not just the usual one.

I dont understand the hate really.

Yeah, this is definetly my least favorite Castlevania on the handhelds. I just remember the main character sprite looking hideous and the castle being really shitty. CotM was much better in my opinion, I actually liked that it was more challenging.

I am right there with you...and I still like it though.

My top 6 are SotN, CotM, AoS, DoS, OoE, PoR.

Eh..
I liked it more than Circle of the Moon.
(not nearly as much as any of the other IGAvanias)

I could never get over the main character running like Shaggy from the older Scooby Doo cartoons though.

So, wait, are necro-bumps allowed in Castlevania threads because, you know, Dracula?

Before this gets locked, I'll throw my $0.02 in. I can't imagine anyone disliking this game unless they're looking for something to complain about. It's basically a portable SOTN. Not as atmospheric or beautiful, of course, but it's structured like SOTN and plays exactly like SOTN. I find the soundtrack to be crude, but charming.

The thing I like best about this title, though, is the dual castle design. Instead of an inverted castle or different worlds, you travel through one castle in different dimensions and can also traverse both dimensions at once (A+B). That's pretty damn ambitious design and the game pulls it off.
