Das Cover-Shooter-Remaster Gears of War: Ultimate Edition erscheint am 02. September 2016 offiziell für PC und Xbox One. Nach dem weltweiten Release im März und der kürzlichen, vorläufigen Listenstreichung von Gears durch die BPjM, bringt Microsoft den Titel im Herbst endlich nach Deutschland.

Das erste Gears of War erschien im November 2006 und wurde noch im selben Monat vorläufig zur Liste A aufgenommen. Die Indizierung wurde im Januar 2007 bestätigt. Wegen Inhaltsgleichheit drohte dem Remaster eine automatische Indizierung. Stattdessen hatte Microsoft den Release zurückgehalten und eine vorläufige Streichung beantragt. Gears of War was put on List A of the Index in 2006, so it was not allowed to advertise the game and was not allowed to be publicly displayed in retail and online stores.

Instead of a release of the UE in Germany in March, MS filed for an early annulation from the Index list. The annulation was granted without any objections by the BPjM (Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons).

So the release in Germany for the UE is the second of September.

Why not just purge the entire socially-conservative ban list and the entire structure of the BPjM? That system has no place in a liberal society.
