Geist scores from EGM?

Johnny Nighttrain speculated this could be one of those under the radar games which could come out firing with good review scores ala Eternal Darkness. :)
no i didn't. someone please quote me on that. talk about putting words in my mouth.

it just has to be Nintendo related now for me to get shit huh? perhaps it's time for me to go into lurk mode or something. this is sorta getting annoying.

The problem with the "Surprise, miracle!" games and hardware is that they're never long-term solutions. Microsoft and Sony build up their libraries and features slowly but surely. Nintendo comes out of left field with something every year or so. Sometimes it's the tried and true, and you know it's good, like Zelda TP. Sometimes it's weird, and half the people hate it, like the DS. Sometimes you just know it's crap, because the developer is crap, like Geist.

SK = Not a crap developer. We knew what that game was, and we were intrigued by it.
Retro = Definitely not a crap developer. Great artists, slick production. A definite asset.
N-Space = Too incompetent to get their stuff together, even with all the delays.

I would be surprised if N-Space ever developed another Nintendo-published gaem.

AWDS 9.0 9.0 8.5 !
Nanostray 5, 5, 5
SplinterCell DS 1.5, 4.5, 5.5
Pac N Roll 6.5, 6.5, 7.5
Death Jr 4.5, 4, 6
Midnight Club 7, 7.5, 8.5
Sonic Gems 6.5, 6.5, 5.5
Pirates! 8, 8.5, 6.5
FullMetal Alc. 5.5, 6, 6
Madden 06 9.5, 9, 8.5
Hulk 9, 9, 7.5,
Fantastic 4, 4, 6, 7
Batman Begins 5, 5, 6
Makai Kingdom 7.5, 8, 7.5
Eyetoy Play 2 8, 8, 7.5

Give me a break, EGM reviews are complete crap now. Worst mainstream media reviews in the industry, I think. 1.5 for Splinter Cell? Give me a fucking break, that's just ridiculous. 4 for Death Jr.? I'm willing to be that's a bit too low. Nanostray? It's terrific.

Two 9's for Hulk? Could comeone with EGM please type up what they liked about it?

And PLEASE tell me what the hell was wrong with Sonic Gems.

Johnny what's up with people saying you said shit when you actually didn't said it? that's fucked up.

I know you credibility was shot to hell with the thing you pull before E3, it seems you are forever cursed with that now.

Killer7 got similar scores at EGM, yet many of us here love it.

Just goes to show you all those little black marks above the scores can be just as important as the numbers.

(....the words. I'm talking about the words of the reviews.)

And Zeo: I gave Splinter Cell DS that 1.5. If you have played the game and read the review I'd love to hear your problem with it?

don't bother man, everything on the DS=great by Zeo's logic. I played Splinter Cell DS and it's complete shite, MarkMacD could have given it a 0 and I wouldn't have complain

Because it wasn't a good game. But it wasn't complete shit either. The other guys got it about right. 1.5 and below is pretty unplayable to me and it wasn't unplayable. That would be Superman 64.

And Error2k4, do you enjoy talking out of your ass? Everything on DS is great by my logic? Sorry, but no. The number of great games on DS in America is pretty slim (although what is great is amazingly great). Everything else is either just above average (Zoo Keeper, Yoshi), completely mediocre (Spider-Man 2, Asphalt), or very bad (Sprung, Madden).

I've been saying Incredible Hulk: Ultimare Destruction is awesome for a long while.,
Too bad the demo is too god damn short.

Killer 7 isn't bad, it's just misunderstood...

I knew there would be people (especially other people who play a lot of games) who would appreciate aspects of Killer 7 a lot more than I did...that's why I mention the text. I think if you've played Killer 7 and would rate it higher, you probably wouldn't disagree with the text of my review--you'd disagree with the value I place on things. I like to think that anyway.

Same goes for Geist. Read the full review(s) together with the score(s) before you decide what it means -to you-.

Zeo I'm just kidding cheer up, I still hold my statement that Splinter Cell DS is complete shit though, and it's nearly unplayable after you played the consoles version.

Honestly it's one of the worst games I've ever played--and I play a lot of games. Read the review and if you take issue with any of my gripes specifically I'd be happy to talk about it.

Eh, to each their own. I probably shouldn't question the level of "bad" in a game, heh. It's a bad game either way. I just thought it was a bit more playable than something like Sprung.

Hmm... the Geist demos I played at e3 always seemed rather decent. I wonder what went wrong...

Probably nothing.

The bar is set really high on any Nintendo published game to deliver.

After all, you're not buying a first person shooter.

You're buying a Nintendo first person shooter.
