No I'm very happy about this. I've been asking for more idle animations since the beginning in almost every survey lmao. It's part of my gameplay experience.

Wouldn't count on it, they're just adding the missing 2nd idle animations to the 4*s that released without them. We saw stuff like this for Xinyan in the past.

Skins? What's that? I seem to remember them doing something like that 25 years ago, but surely they'd have released more than just 1 or 2 of them by now, right?

I admired their commitment to not do "real life holiday events" like Christmas etc.....right up until they did the floating lantern event which is obviously a real life China thing. If they're going to do that, just say fuck it and give me my gacha Halloween skins. I want witch Mona, succubus Eula, mummy Shogun, and wolfgirl Amber already. I don't care that I've seen the costumes 100x before, just make them, make them attractive, and I will buy them. That's all that should be said of that transaction.
Some of the decisions that MHY makes are real headscratchers.

They should have clarified and said they'd only do "Chinese events" cause Lantern was around CNY and Moonchase is... yeah. Just make seasonal skin if you're not doing the events c'mon...
Hell, I'll take office lady Eula. That one artist sold me on that in an instant.
Almost forgot to finish my weekly bosses tonight, actually got a claymore prototype from Signora. Beidou's Nagamasa is R3 now, she's getting there.
I finally have a character development plan in place since I more or less have my teams picked out for the 3 most used setups. Long post, so I'm going to spoiler it for those that don't care to read it.
All-arounder team - Every elemental and weapon type coverage for any enemy in the game. My default when exploring the world and just getting into shit.
Tart - Main/sub dps depending on what I'm fighting, ranged for ranged stuff, applies hydro. IMO, best AoE character in the game for multiple enemies, but you'd need to have him at C4 for the juicy bits.
Yoimiya - Main/sub dps, single target DPS. If Tart applies his riptide, she vapes constantly. If fighting anything "big", Beidou's ult causes big dick damage Overloads without bouncing them around. Absolutely melts single targets and non-pyro bosses. Her Ult is perfect for switching back to Tart and finishing things up after his cooldown is done.
Beidou - Defensive counters and her Ult is amazing paired with either Tart or Yoimiya. I really underrated her for a long time, but at this point with her talents and gear being leveled, she's actually a little better at off-field Electro than Shogun, provided you can keep her Burst fueled. She's also there to break ore and Geo shields, completing the all-arounder team needs. I would prefer to use shogun but Beidou brings stuff to the table that she doesn't.
Qiqi - I shat on her constantly, despite having her since my rerolls, but she's surprisingly great in this team. Applies Cryo at decent rates and frequency with Sacrificial sword, so Tart has a freeze partner. Applies Superconduct if I ever want to get silly with Beidou/Yoimiya physical damage (I don't), and has the healing that really helps vs. this new corrosion mechanic that affects the whole party no matter who gets hit. She's mostly just here over Jean because she has Cryo and can help with Electro shields and the things that cryo is good for, while also supplying heals. I still have a long way to go building her, becuase her damage is pathetic right now.
Physical team - Works vs. any enemy since the damage focus is physical, biggest burst damage that I play, relatively safe and hard to kill.
Eula - The main carry and staple of this team. Best physical DPS in the game bar none. I barely ever hit with her big ult splash damage because she kills stuff so fast. But it's fun seeing big numbers from time to time.
Zhongli - Shield and Geo resonance. He's great for what he does, and makes gathering ore a snap. Since I got the MIlelelith set for him, he provides a nice attack buff too.
Sara/Fischl - Real talk, Fischl is a much better character from all angles, but I prefer to use Sara most of the time just because I like her better. This is just a slot for an aimable ranged character for sniping tower hilichurls and other annoying things, and to apply superconduct. Fischl is superior except for underboob, but I still try to use Sara and pretend the 250~ attack buff is worth the loss of all of Oz's damage (it's not).
Ningguang/Noelle - I prefer Ning for having a cataylist user for non-aimed ranged damage. and her ranged attack shield. Also her construct resonates with Zhongli's construct. which is nice when stacked up. Really though, this is just a healer slot with Geo resonance for the attack bonus while shielded. Ning has the R5 Prototype Amber which allows her to be a super effective burst spamming healer. Noelle has the advantage of the "oh shit" shield and being unkillable. I like them both for this team. There's not a bad pick.
Pyro/Ganyu team - If I don't want to fuck around, this is what I use. Poor elemental coverage but it basically allows for big dick damage from Ganyu while also having all the advantages of a freeze comp and the Pyro element, which is still far and away the best element in the game.
Diluc - Out of the Pyro carries that I have that aren't already in other teams, Diluc is my favorite. Not the best, but easy to use and build. His Burst is a great waveclear and has a ton of i-frames. Very straightforward and effective.
Ganyu - Really the best damage character in the game. I beat lvl. 90 Dvalin in 8 seconds last week due to her. Ridiculous multipliers on her charged shot, great Burst, useful elemental skill for getting out of trouble. I bet MHY wishes they could take her back and not make her basically Cryo god. It's almost silly how good she is, and anybody having trouble in the game with any boss other than cryo bosses should pull for her eventual rerun. She actually makes the game kinda boring.
Xiangling - Best Pyro off-field support, Pyro resonance with Diluc which actually helps Ganyu even more, enables reverse melts with Ganyu's burst, just a silly good support character. All you have to deal with is Gooba being a lobotomy patient and liking campfires and torches more than enemies.
Barbara - I actually pulled Kokomi, but still prefer Barbie for this team. Her ring heals, applies Hydro at good frequency and follows your character, unlike Kokomi's jellyfish. By applying Hydro with no damage. you can remove "burning" status from your own characters without taking any damage from Pyro, which is nice when you have Diluc and Gooba burning the grass everywhere you're standing. She also allows you to basically rub up against enemies to get them wet, then use Ganyu's ele skill to freeze, retreat for easy sniping. Her auto-revive at C6 has also been handy a few times.
Anyways, those are my 3 main teams, then my 4th is a selection of whoever I'm trying to level friendship for, that I swap to before claiming leylines/boss rewards etc, and do all my dailies with. I wish there was a better method for gaining friendship xp or that we had more team slots, I'd love to keep making new setups and playing around with them, but I hate messing with my working teams. I feel 10 team slots is better, 16 would be perfect. 4 is just way too few considering we have like 40 characters now.
Now I'll just go in order and totally max out those 3 teams in all ways, talents/weapons/artifacts. It's easier that I'm not pulling any new characters until at least 2.3, so I have time to just focus on my existing teams.
*edit*
Here are your 2.3 banners. Hope you're ready for a sausage fest. Albedo rerun first, then Itto/Furry.
Where'd you get this info? Did MHY tweet it or something? That would be the first time they've ever dropped info about reruns before the update stream, right?

These are all from leakers, but Lumie has a really good track record of being right, especially with banners.
Also in new leaks - 2.4 we're getting Yunjin and FINALLY Chasm, apparently. Multiple leakers are agreeing. No word on if Shenhe will drop in 2.4 as well, but her kit's been changed a bit from that last leak. Now she supposedly has Xiao/Rosaria's Elemental skill dash thing, and her Burst is like Kaz's but applies Cryo. I was really hoping they mad her a Hydro polearm instead of another Cryo, but here we are.
BTW, it's next to China region, so... welcome back to China! Again! xD
I also recently read some theories about new wolf enemies being introduced to the 1st region too. Remember those wolf claws marks next to the weekly boss arena? Some say it's a sign of things to come. I'm not very hopeful, but we will see.

Ah, nice. More skips. Pretty ridiculous hero to release along with the new Dendro(?) region, but eh, MiHo is crazy so I'm not surprised at all.
The wolf claw marks were explained in Razor's character quest near the beginning of the game. It was weekly wolf boss protecting the lupical and/or training with Varka. It's been a while so I don't remember the details but that's not related to the floating dickwolves.

Interesting, maybe it is the flying wolves then, who knows. I always assumed it was Boreas protecting the pack that made the scratches, but I guess it could be the enemy wolves too. Ironically, you never see any wild wolves in the game like you do with Boars, foxes, squirrels, etc. Not even any functionally invulnerable ones like cats/dogs and those Kitsune foxes.
Hopefully it doesn't take us too far backwards in design philosophy. Since it's been in development for so long, I'm not expecting it to be Tsurumi Island tier, but hopefully it's at least as good as Dragonspine.

Same and hopefully the lore implications/storylines are interesting. I think the Moonchase covered enough of Liyue's origins so it'd be nice if it was about something else.

I'd like to know which genius decided that you would have to press opposite sides of the dpad at the same time for some of the hardest songs in the zither event. Even with a touchscreen you'd have a hard time doing that with one hand. Only keyboard can easily do it.

All in all, nice feature for people who care about base building and want to create some unholy shrine dedicated to their waifus and totally not gay husbandos.
It's amazing with the production values and general localization quality in Genshin, Honkai can sometimes feel like a budget ripoff game. They just released like a 10+ minute high quality animated web event video to watch and get rewards, but.....
The Global/EN version of the game only has the video in Chinese audio with Chinese subtitles. So thanks for the rewards, but I have no idea what they were trying to get across.
