For the true Gacha experience, at least someone has to recommend rerolling for a 5*, so I’ll say it! Most games of this variety are defined by their rare characters (the 1% drops)*, and getting one early can carry you through the early ranks.
The caveat with that approach is that Aloy (from Sony’s Horizon: Zero Dawn) is being given away, and she is a 5*, but there’s no real consensus on whether she’s any good. Considering the game feeds you a lot of the draw currency quickly to start, you’re eventually going to draw a 5* character, so don’t feel like you “have to” try rerolling. I actually didn’, and I have a fair assortment of 5*s after almost a full year of playing.
*- Technically, the game has a pity system, so you’re guaranteed to get a 5* after 90 draws on a particular banner (excluding the beginner one, since it only goes to 20 draws), and the odds greatly increase around your 75th draw (“soft pity”).
Reroll decision aside, the other thing you’re going to want to do is find a healer. The Event tab should still allow you to unlock either Barbara or Bennett by progressing through specified content; either one would be useful to get used to…unless you really love the cooking mechanic that much.
