When DC did their reboot last year there seemed to be consious decision to redesign their charecters to be more appealing to a modern generation and DC's mind that meant giving everyone guns and hoods.

Johns as the Bendis of DC is starting to fit more & more with stuff like this....he's a great writer, but they're giving him stuff that's a bit too large/doesn't play to his strengths.

How does this book not play to his strengths? His best work is building worlds and legitimizing B or C tier characters. This will probably end up better than the main Justice League book for that very reason.

you've got a point (i think some of the JLA ones were better fits) but what i mean is theyve been having him do universe-wide changes/events where i think he typically does better with single character, personally. that goes 10x for bendis, he excels at street vigilante shit.

You'd think DC would want to focus on the main group. There has to be a boardroom of movie execs who look at the success of the Avengers and want to do the same for JLA.

A team full of 2nd stringers divides the focus.

I don't get why DC doesn't just put the label of Universe #1, #5, #35 at the very top of titles. Instead of "revamping" everything all the time. That way they can use characters and teams in different ways without undoing what they've done and making people feel like they've wasted money and time.
