Geoff Keighley hyping this years E3 as the Best One Ever!

I can't hate on the guy, but he definitely loves to hype about things. But to be honest, there's a good chance we'll see the new Red Dead game and who knows what else MS and Sony come up with. He did mention only Monday huh, and EA is Sunday in the evening and Bethesda on Monday morning (for Europe), so he's talking about all shows except EA?

As usual, I'll hope for cool announcements and there will likely be some. But I could do without the footage of people falling down in shock over announcements or whatever. That's just silly.

He's E3s poster child/adult for the hype machine,i actually rather like him for that...

I'm hyped either way,i mean it's E3 get hyped for exciting and disappointing games in equal measure

Isn't he just saying that E3, for his show, will be the best they have had? Not that E3 itself will be the best E3 ever? I honestly don't see how this will be the best E3 ever.

Doritos pope is a hype man, he's not a Journalist. It's his job to try and get people excited for the content that he is producing, but I personally have always appreciated his enthusiasm. The cycle begins a new though where many on Gaf will hype itself beyond any reasonable expectation and then blame people like Geoff for it not living up to the dreams they have built up in their minds.

I'm looking forward to next week though even though I feel that E3 is going to be in rough shape in the not too distant future as most publishers would probably rather talk directly to their audience then go through game journalists, and it's becoming easy to see it happening as big publishers break off to do their own things. I'm actually curious if Sony hosts an E3 press conference next year or if they ax it now that they have PSX every year.

if you think about it PlayStation has cards in its sleeves, Devs and games that people have been waiting for but nothing. At PSX people thought they would do something there but still nothing.

Maybe Monday is the day

I still think that Shawn's Crash shirt meant something... Like the FF7 tease.

I don't know what but I hope it's not something like ports or an announcement for some crossover fighting game.

Best e3 ever for me would be the announcement rdr 2, new tes, cyberpunk, tlou2. And thats not happening.

He is like setting us up to be disappointed.

Who honestly still gives two shits about crash in this day and age? I hope they don't waste much show time with this crap if it exists.

Yeah, i dunno, and people claiming the greatest E3 in history is one that announced games that were previously announced, and with no release date in the near future....... ????

I haven't been truly hyped about an E3 in a very very long time. I am hyped for this one. The possible hardware announcements, the games that are coming out, possible surprises and such.

I think this one will be really good.

how will anyone top Sony's Last Guardian/FF7 remake/Shenmue 3 blowout

unless GabeN finally shows us a 3
Reannouncing vaporware did nothing for me, thank god Nintendo's showing was worse or it would have been in my least favorite of last year,

shouldn't be that hard to top this year.

Wonder what Geoff thinks when he enters this thread and sees all the Doritos bullshit haunting him for the rest of his life.

The pre E3 content is already the biggest ever, I don't remember when we had so much content of big and anticipated AAA games before the show.

I'm always kind of amazed at how much people will try to discredit Sony's E3 2015 showing. Any one of FFVIIR, TLG, and Shenmue 3 showing up would be cool, any two would be amazing, all three is just extraordinary. I missed the conference and when I was reading the summary I literally thought I had accidentally clicked on a predictions thread by mistake.

If it didn't do it for you of course you can feel that way, but don't be surprised when people are going to raise THAT showing as the gold standard from now on.

Hm, no NX, the hardware updates, EA showing 2018 games, as of now, that's not something i'm really hyped for. While i surely will show childish joy for Zelda once they show it, i can't get hyped because it's still nearly a year before i can finally play that.
FF 7 Remake Trailer, Shenmue Kickstarter didn't do a thing for me, too.

And for the love of whatever god, i hope SQEX leaves Chrono Trigger alone.

Guys.

Megaton = Something from Valve?

I mean, there's got to be a game someday, rightt? On one of the latest Bombcasts, the crew said that there's many, many devs on Valve that do not work on DOTA 2 and they just don't know what they're doing.

If Valve announces an big game (new ip, L4D3 or something Half-Life) it would have to be gigantic and flawless to be worth the wait. It HAS to be revolutionary, i think.

Maybe this is THE E3 that it will happen? What Gaf thinks?

Besides, Rockstar with anything and Sucker Punch with anything is what i'm most excited for.

Pretty sure he says this every year. Regardless, he always gets hyped over nothing anyway.

This. This. And this.

And still people keep trusting him on this regard. I actually Keighley but this is his job. He has to promote his shows, so he always needs to say "What a incredible VGA's this year. Best year ever." or "This E3 will shock the industry. It will cause a rift in the entire galaxy". Do people really expect someone that needs an audience for his show to say "Meh. This E3 is the same, some surprises but plenty of remasters and the same games over and over. Please be excited"?

We are on GAF. If some devs says "See this mountain? You can climb it." people still believe it.
