Geoff Keighley hyping this years E3 as the Best One Ever!

What are y'all doing? This isn't a competition with some tradeshow from your childhood.

We all know Sega's E3 was the best anyway.

I pretty much agree with all of what you've said here, my post was just responding to someone who said that it would be basically impossible to top last years E3 presser. My point is just that considering the three "dream" announcements from last year only really matter to maybe 50% of the E3 audience, I don't think it would be very hard to top it from an overall perspective, let alone consider it impossible.

Ok my bad

But still, what would you say would matter to a higher audience demographic? From an overall, perspective, like you say.

Because to me there's pretty much nothing that would best it. Bare in mind we also saw the likes of Uncharted 4 at the conference.

I think Sony played pretty much all of their trump cards by delivering stuff for some of their oldest, long-term consumers - and that's hard to master, let alone better - but that's fine too, my expectations are low for next week so I'm ready to be impressed.

HL2+ Ep1 + Ep2 Remakes this year
HL3 in 2017
Project Gotham Racing 5
Daytona 3
Outrun 3
New Jet Set Radio
WipeOut XXXL
RDR2/3 whatever
Soul Reaver sequel
Crash
Resident Evil 7
Next Kojima game
Psi Ops Remake (and sequel)
Silent Hills
Metal Gear 1 and 2 remakes

Free PS4k and Scorpio upgrades.

confirmed !

If you look at the monthly PSN charts threads, all four of the ND Crash titles always top the PS Classics list.

but how many numbers are they shifting. if everything else on the PSone store is selling 5 copies and they're selling 10 every month, i'm not entirely sure that's evidence of the franchise still being popular?

how will anyone top Sony's Last Guardian/FF7 remake/Shenmue 3 blowout

unless GabeN finally shows us a 3

lol i was super dissapointed in last years besides TLG but even that was not that great of a trailer.

Why would i want to play the worst FF again?
Why would i want to play a Shenmue game and a kickstarted one at that. Not even a trailer with a release date probably closer to 2019.

TLG was always coming, they never denied that so i wasn't that surprised. The rest of the conferencr was garbage too.

I assume they're significant since Sony appear to be determined to bring Crash back in a big way. It's not like Activision has been scrambling at the chance to revive the franchise in some way these past years is it.

A spiritual successor to Kotor from Bioware and a Metroid Prime launch title for the NX would make it the best E3 ever for me. Metroid def won't be announced at this E3 but they are both well within the realms of possibility.

oh damn what a badass!

Is that what he's saying, or is he saying that "we (i.e. YouTube showing) have perhaps the best lineup we've ever had"?

Purposefully vague to generate hype, confusion and discussion. Geoff is more of a PR man anyway, this is what he does. The fact people assign any weight to the credibility of his words always astounds me.

It's like a game producer saying their game is great, no shit, what else will he say? It's in Geoff's best interest to generate hype for his own E3 show in order to gain more viewers...marketing 101.

Half life 3 wouldn't make sense to be announced at e3, it's too big a deal to share a convention with other games, it'll most likely have it's own conference.

That being said the games I'm most hopeful for are the ones most people don't give a shit about, so they probably will never be mentioned:

- Beyond Good & Evil 2
- Crash Bandicoot made by Naughty Dog (this will never happen)
- A new Spyro the Dragon made by Insomniac
- The Last Guard... Wait that already happened! ;)

I would be satisfied if he got paid to announce Mountain Dew Baja Blast is staying in stores forever.

So did anyone try Baja Blast? What's it like?
Oh and uhh nothing is beating Sony last year.
Unless they announce HL3 or twenty smaller but highly anticipated games.

Haha I wouldn't know, if I did I'd be a very successful Sony executive right about now, but from a pure numbers perspective I think it should be quite possible.

Lol! I truly am laughing out loud on a train. I'm getting funny looks.

that would be magnificent

I think I'll keep my hype in check Geoff.

Does he always do this? Or do we have a reason to be legitimately excited?

I mean it can't be worse than the last 2 or 3 years of E3

If this is another round of remakes and big budget sequels I'm gonna shoot myself.

At least we can look forward to some console refresh/specs drama

As always, I'm excited. It really is just a fun day to be a fan of gaming.

Will check out some of Geoff's coverage.

It will be nice to go into an E3 without TLG, FF7r and Shenmue 3 hanging over each platform holders conference.

Crash and HL3 are another story though I suppose.

Give it a week...

"Anyone else disappointed by this years E3?"
"Did Sony drop the ball not announcing crash?"
"Does E3 even have a reason to exist anymore?"

...hell, we had that last one a few days ago and the show hasn't even started yet!

Cackling at the fact that every E3 pretty much has always announced games for the future but so many people in this thread are acting brand new as if that has never been the case, ESPECIALLY from Japan.

I understand if many don't actually care for TLG, FF7R and Shenume because they don't know them or like them... understandable...but now complaining about their release date? 😂😂 All three games are Japanese...I mean... 💀

Surely from the Nintendo crowd. Sony seems to have software megatons and Microsoft seems to be hardware focussed.
There's no reason any Nintendo fan should expect anything exciting from E3 this year since they know there will be nothing. notsurewhatiexpected.jpg

For showing enthusiasm and humanity at being unable to contain their excitement?

Nah, not at all.

Now if it were fake I'd agree but it isn't so you're wrong.

If they gonna review games, then yes they shouldn't do that. That's embarrassing and can't take their opinions seriously.

These are "journalists"?

Embarrassing.

Are they journalists though? I'm not sure there are anyone I would actually call actual journalists in games' media. There are some who do investigate and do critical pieces from time to time, but I don't doubt anyone can make their living doing only that and not traditionally games writing/videos as well.

It probably won't be the best E3 ever because it's super fucking hard to top Sony's E3 presser from last year. Like, practially impossible to top.
Shenmue 3, Last Guardian and FF7 Remake are the games that have to be topped all at once.
Not even Half-Life 3 would do that for me.

Why? This is a medium where the sole purpose is to have fun, why is seeing someone having fun a bad thing?
