According to the report, the sequel to the best-selling game of 2023 is a “very big priority” for those at Warner Bros. As far as what the focus of the next game will be, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment President David Haddad says it will coordinate story elements with the upcoming HBO series.

“He notes that the success of Hogwarts Legacy helped stoke confidence that the time was right to make a major Potter push: ‘The rest of the company was very curious about what we helped to unlock with ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ last year’,” the report reads.

After the disaster of Suicide Squad in contrast to the overly sucess of HL, despite the massive screeching and campaign against it, it comes as no surprise to me.

Curious to see what they do here.

The original Hogwarts Legacy felt like a lightning in a bottle moment that will be difficult to replicate.

The main selling point I feel was re-creating Hogwarts and Hogsmede so convincingly.

They will need to rely on something else this time. Once your past the charm of exploring Hogwarts the actual gameplay was merely okay.

Didn’t WB say that they were going all in on the live service bandwagon. Guess we know what the next game is going to be like.
Honestly, im not a big fan of the GAAS push, but making a Harry Potter MMO/shared world game would be a license to print money. There aren't many properties that could get away with it but Harry Potter is one.

I'll be interested if they keep the same formula as before. If they go full GAAS, I will probably skip. There are some franchises where I want story-driven gameplay, and this is definitely one of them. I'm still so surprised that they butchered Suicide Squad, when all they had to do was follow the same formula they used in the Batman games.

Yes, especially with a TV show coming up that is likely going to run for at least 6+ years. A GAAS kinda game would make them insanely rich. Honestly even the fanbase could benefit from this, if done right. Think like genshin impact but for cat ladies with scarfs instead of weebs with dakimakura.

Shouldn't it have been in production literally 1 week after the last one launched to monster sales?

Why do WB hate money?

Looking forward to how WB manage to fuck this one up.

Will be interesting to find out wheather they have the guts to shove a woke agenda in there or if they prefer to actually make money

I mean, the game is full of stuff that people online would normally complain about being woke. From a major side character being trans to 1800's Hogwarts having 10X more diversity than 1990's Hogwarts. It's just that no one cared because the entire discussion focused on how playing the game was upsetting Resetera.

Make it next gen exclusive and put online Quidditch in it, and it will sell more copies than the bible

Making it GAAS would print money, but I dont trust WB to do it correctly (would still sell like crazy on the brand's name alone, regardless of the game's quality tho)

They just need to make more of the same, really

All it’s literally missing is pronouns to be the ultimate gold standard of a woke game.

First one was good and an incredible foundation but there's an insane amount of room for improvement.

Day 1 either way.

Could have been a 1/10 and it still would have been 10/10 for all the entertainment its provided.
i mean, i only play the game to explore the castle... and it delivered.

but when I think about the overall game.... its fuckin trash (of course im being hyperbolic). the open world is really having a detriment to the overall experience, immersion and desing. the combat is completely useless too.

so, only 10% of the time feels meaningful and deliberate while 90% is filler and mindless.

Either way the sequels is going to sell a ton.

I meant the drama outside of the game but
yeah I just wandered about the castle for a bit and called ot a day. It was wonderfully realised

Can’t wait to give JKR more of my hard earned money.

I smell another give away coming lads when this game is upon us the first meme contest hit hard.

Yes they did. It's going to be gaas live service slop, mixed with woke hbo modern era, not classic potter. In other words, a big pass from me. At least we got a proper creative single player game before it hit the mainstream shit factory.
