Valve simply does not have the writers left to make Half Life 3 as good as a first party console exclusive (not Xbox) should be

The Campos Santos guys are still there, unless they've left since Half Life Alyx. They're not terrible writers, but they seem better at dialogue than, say, plot going off Firewatch.

Steam Machine exclusive.

Dude what the hell are you talking about
All OG Half Life writers have left Valve.

Marketing bait, Geoff's playing 4D chess with us.

All OG Half Life writers have left Valve.
Imagine posting news from fucking 2017 after Half-Life Alyx was a banger of a videogame.

Who's alt is this? :goog_relieved:

I'd say similar but not exact. Could be related, or could be Geoff being a big whole bag of dicks like that guy that made the legendary "New Half Life: 3 Images" thread on GAF like 10 years ago.

What does "as good as a first party console exclusive" means?? Also Alyx not only exists, it's also shows Valve still got it and then some.

This good be another lame ass Fortnite VGA map or some shit, lmao. Definitely looks inspired by it, but I don't know if it's safe to say that's what it is. Geoff just wanting more traffic, engagement, and views. GET AWAY FROM IT GEOFF, NO!

I have been using this name all over internet since 2017.

Steambox is a console. Half Life 3 is a first party title. It should be good enough to be a reason to buy Steambox like Sony and Nintendo sell their consoles.

Reverse image searched it. It's just the screenshot from a short CGI video telling you to vote.

Could it be a half life reference? I guess. But it doesn't look that similar to it than any other machine with a ball of energy. Don't think it's anything to do with it.

Half life is coming though.

Highly doubt it's exclusive. That would make no sense and deflate any hype.
This would be stupid imho. I am a huge valve fan, but this would be against everything why I like valve. A lot of people dont want or can just switch to a new OS. Also commercially this wouldnt be a smart move.
Maybe Linux exclusive. If done right this could make PC gamers try Linux.

Not a chance. 97% of steam users don't use Linux. You think valve is going to give the middle finger to all their customers? Lol.

Only about 4.3m active Steam linux users compared to around 145m total active Steam users. It would be an incredibly dumb and crippling decision.

Honestly, it's so bloody old now, anyone playing the second game at release (never mind the first) will be pushing or mid 40s. Sure, it's picked up some in the interim, but it's been forever. Imo they should be doing full remakes along with the 3rd.

Yuuuup, he knows exactly what he's doing. Ol Dorito Pope-ass. We've been chasing too much though, there's too much pointing to HLX/HL3 to NOT be real, we just need to ignore everything until we know for sure it's credible and factual.

I think it is just probably exactly what it looks like: a different machine engineered in a different way with a different level of technology to achieve the same result but better: forming an inter-dimensional portal this *isn't* inherently unstable and destructive, forming countless random portals all over an area as seen in Half Life 1.

It shares similarities with the Black Mesa machine using human technology from that period while, yes, looking very different in other ways. It has multiple nodes feeding in energy. It has a ball of energy forming and producing lots of light.

It could be a more advanced version of human technology. It could be the technology of another alien civilisation that isn't the combine. It could be a different combine design, perhaps you need a different design to produce to portals/tears at a different scale like, say, passing a spaceship through.
