No problem, I think it's hard to detect if you are not actually talking to a person and there also is some truth to what I said.

Better late than never. I'm very happy how this suddenly gained traction within a week or two.
Should have been done a long time ago. The moment right now is a bit dangerous because if the vote goes well, that'll be ammuntion for AFD in the next election. It's not one of their big talking points in campaigns and I doubt it moves the needle but you don't want to give them a straw now that they seem to be down in the polls.
One of the two frontrunners of the AfD in the upcoming election, Alice Weidel, is gay. I don't think this'll be any kind of ammunition.
1. Ignores the general refugee problem for years
2. Then single-handily tells everyone that they are welcome and the border is open
3. Turns to the EU after the fact
4. Majority of EU sees it different, countries like Hungary close their borders
5. Countries that closed their borders constantly get called out (by politicians, media, etc.)
6. Germany alone, loose of control, endless refugee stream into Germany, too much to handle alone
7. ???
8. After endlessly calling out countries who closed their borders pay dictator to do the dirty work for you/to stop the refugee stream
9. Treat dictator well (Böhmermann, Incirlik, etc..)
More like a day or two. Merkel was saying she thinks it's a decision everyone has to make for themselfs when pressed on the topic in an interview, the next morning SPD, Green and Left parties said let's take her by the word and put it up for a vote on Friday. At that point Merkel was outplayed.
Well, the CDU tried to block that vote. And the party wont work against MerkelCouldn't she still have told her party how to vote on this, but didn't?

"It is about the further destruction of the social order."
Hans-Peter Friedrich (CSU, former minister of interior affairs):
Gonna make a better translation for you later if you want.I do not, no.
Only ENG, FIN and very terribad SWE
Why won't it be anonymous? This vote would probably hurt her party then no? I'd hate to see the AfD run on "well we're the only party who doesn't like gay people, vote for us!"
CSU is basically where you can stop reading. Most of those are just batshit insane.
Well, even AfD voters are slightly supportive of gay-marriage, so that's probably not the best idea
She's CDU right? Hope she can leave them behind somehow.
Even better, I hope they do run on it then lol
AfD is in a tough spot there. They definitely won't run with this, officially, as one of their leading candidates is lesbian and has two kids with a woman from Sri Lanka (oh, the irony).
Merkel is CDU yeah. The CSU will haunt her forever I guess ^^ They won't be able to stop this vote, though. There is just too much of a consensus in the parliament (SPD+Greens+Linke have a slight majority on their own and are very much pro-gay marriage).

You didn't refute anything i said, instead you came up with crazy allegations in an attempt to discredit me.Riight, all her fault.
Please get off the conspiracy websites and check what those "majority EU" countries did. Orban was obstructionist from the start, the PiS party from Poland only wants money from the EU and otherwise fuck it over, Italy is being overrun and was begging for help (which Merkel and others actually tried... before your "majority" decided tobe total dickweeds). and the list goes on.
Yes they were dictators and let's not start about PiS and Orban's crap on gay rights. But you probably don't care about that. You came here to bash Merkel (and don't get me wrong on the political spectrum, Merkel and I are diametrically on opposing sides), just because your conspiracy website tells you to.
"It is about the further destruction of the social order."
Hans-Peter Friedrich (CSU, former minister of interior affairs):
Conservatives within the CDU also warn that a gay marriage bill would require a change to the German constitution.
The interior and justice ministries have always been of the opinion that same-sex marriage cant happen without a change to the constitution, Günter Krings (CDU) told the Rheinische Post.
There is a lot of evidence to suggest that the proposed change to the law will contravene the constitutional definition of marriage.
At the end of this article there's a few lines about alleged constitutional problems:
That Merkel herself and the other parties don't seem to care indicates that it might be bullshit, but I'm not an expert on German constitutional law and don't want to presume. Are there any German lawyers ITT who would like to talk about this issue in a bit more depth?
It's really up to discussion. Marriage is not defined in the constitution imho. Also a broadening of the definition doesn't limit the protection for everyone else. But I am sure you can also find arguments against a wider scope of the protection article 6 gives. It's certainly (one of) the tricky legal issues that hindered an earlier adoption of marriage for all. Here are the corresponding paragraphs
Article 6
[Marriage Family Children]
(1) Marriage and the family shall enjoy the special protection of the state.
(2) The care and upbringing of children is the natural right of parents and a duty primarily incumbent upon them. The state shall watch over them in the performance of this duty.
(3) Children may be separated from their families against the will of their parents or guardians only pursuant to a law, and only if the parents or guardians fail in their duties or the children are otherwise in danger of serious neglect.
(4) Every mother shall be entitled to the protection and care of the community.
(5) Children born outside of marriage shall be provided by legislation with the same opportunities for physical and mental development and for their position in society as are enjoyed by those born within marriage.
Is there any jurisprudence on the application of these provisions to adoptive parents?

Man, sometimes when you're out there hoping to change minds, you've gotta accept it when somebody says they are now in favor of your cause. No matter how cynical you are, you are mistaken to shut somebody down when they've come to a point where they say your cause worked on them and at the end of the day, whether they really believe in it or not, they are giving positive exposure to the cause. so it doesn't matter if Merkel truly cares, or Obama truly cares, despite their old views.Just a few years ago she openly spoke against Gay marriage. I think she said that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. This whole sudden movement is obviously just for political gain.
It's great that we'll finally allow it. But don't think she does it out of the kindness of her heart.

399 - Yes
226 - No
Law passed.
Merkel voted no.
Congrats, Germany! Fuck her for that vote though. Glad they caught that.
There was nothing to "catch", because the SPD/Greens/Left demanded a non-anonymous vote (which they can do because they have their own majority in the Bundestag). Probably precisely because of Merkel's vote.Congrats, Germany! Fuck her for that vote though. Glad they caught that.
