New design is at least miles better than Blu Ray Motoko's hilarious butchering of one of the best scenes from Stand Alone Complex.
Holy shit :lol :lol What the hell happened?

She's sexualized pretty badly in the opening but for actual design I still like the old Psx look (I know I'm alone in this one). I miss the 90's :'(True that, i think my favorite design was in the Oshii movies, tbh.
Especially the face:

I like the new look. If they're going for a younger depiction of the Major, it looks right to me. Though not having Kamiyama helming the project hurts since I love the way he chooses to tell stories. SAC, Moribito, and Eden of the East are damn near impeccable.
Still, Production I.G. has talent and I've enjoyed a few of their shows over the past few years. I hope this turns out well. At least, give me more of Togusa and Saito.

The PS1 design is ripped almost straight from the manga, so I'm a fan. If someone made a throwback 90s-style Ghost in the Shell I'd be all for it.
Yeah it's not as absurd an opinion as you think, like Robut said, it's the closest they got to the manga (which is not inherently good or bad).
I still like the Film's better, but that would come second.
It had fantastic backgrounds too. I saw it with similar expectations back when Adultswim started airing it, but I was surprised at how methodical the show was. When I looked up the people responsible, it made sense.Yeah, i really really love Moribito. I was honestly a bit disappointed cause I expected an action show but I got something even better. Doesn't hurt that when there was action scenes the animation looked so ridiculously good
The opening is terrible (like what the hell is going on) but the cutscenes were pretty endearing. Better animation with that style could be really fun.
GITS action rpg could be outstanding.
Any screenshots? I'm always in the mood for hilarious animation goofs and laziness."maybe they won't notice the horribly elongated torso if I just cover it up with this gun"
She's so ugly. Couldn't they make her more attractive? Maybe more moe. She looks 90s anime bad.

Oh, that one didn't look bad enough to be called "butchered." Her facial expression is hilarious but if that's butchered you better not even GLANCE at Man-Machine interface. She basically got mega breast implants and a spine removal in that. It's the image I posted!

"Action extravaganza" doesn't sound like something I want associated with GiTS.God, no. Let a reputable Japanese company like Platinum pick that one up. Game has to be a fluid 60 FPS action extravaganza with minimal RPG elements.

If R* were even remotely decent people, they would've done:
Oni 2.
Action open world in GitS/Appleseed/Akira style.
Not touched by Dan Houser's writing, possibly.
ಠ_ಠThis is my biggest worry, I've loved all his work. The movies are great, but there are many episodes that trump them.
It was published by R* in North America, hence the confusion. But Oni was done by Bungie. What does R* have to do with a game they never, ever worked on outside of a port?

They should just make a sitcom about 3 tachikomas sharing an apartment.
I know, Take Two published it, so i guess it owns the franchise and R* is good at open world games (and it's owned by T2).
Of the original Oni you don't really have to keep anything, since it already was a rip off of the various cyberpunk/anime tropes seen in GitS and the like.
Point being: WE JUST NEED AN EXCUSE!

Aww that was my favourite one too!Apparently the director has done some directorial work before. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=12569 It was part of the 2010 Young Animators' Training Project. (Step yo game up, duckroll.)
On the brighter side, this thread seems to have brought out all the animu fans who've gone into hiding these past few months! Nice to know theres a sizeable community on Neogaf, besides the ones on the Gundam megathread.![]()
