Ghost of Yōtei - Firearms Gameplay | PS5 Games

Thats Good Patrick Stewart GIF

I love slow motion reloads and panning cameras around action to try and make it look cool.

Seriously though, I think the game looks fun and Im looking forward to my pre order arriving.

Can the enemies even draw their weapons? Stay tuned.

I enjoy a mindless hack and slash massacre as much as the next guy, but these trailers are not great. I would still play this after a few discounts.

I'm buying Ghost of Yotei as soon as I get my next paycheck, this game looks really good and I want to play it as soon as it releases. The gun mechanics look really good as well. Haven't seen many 3rd person game with really good gun mechanics.

I was gonna get this day one but the Battlefield beta happend and it comes out the following week and I know that's gonna just eat hours of my life at this point. I'll probably pick this up in Nov during Black Friday sales though.

My birthday week before though so I may just say fuck it and get it anyway.

In before "Looks like shit"

The wolf be like "Girl, you gonna let me do anything at all? Why did you even summon me?"

Still not convinced with this type of ADHD marketing. But I'll do my part of analyzing the fuck out of it to see what we can learn. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

You could get to a point in Tsushima where you're clearing camps with this level of efficiency. Nothing new here. Gameplay should - at the very least - be as good as it was in Tsushima.

I mean...it's clear this was played at the easiest difficulty level. They always do this to showcase gameplay mechanics and stuff.

I'll assume the final game has better AI, but who knows. I didnt play the first game and gamers say the AI was braindead in GoT too. Every trailer shown for GoY they basically make all the enemies just stand there like pylons.

I get it that they are trying to show off attack moves without having to go through an enemy defending, but it's weird. It'd be like a COD game or Souls-like trailer where you just Rambo through everything or kill the boss without getting attacked back.

This is quite evidently being recorded at the absolute minimum difficulty. The intent seems to be to show unstoppable badassery, but for me personally, it's dampening the impact. Their state of play combat demo was hitting the sweet spot. Anyway, lethal mode is confirmed at launch, so for those who care about challenge, there should be enough of it.

Lethal mode is fantastic. They are still quite brain dead, but fun to engage with. Still not anywhere near a souls-like and you can absolutely wipe out entire camps without a single hit, but the flow and balance was sublime. The Kunai felt way too OP, hopefully they tuned that.

Yeah, most gameplay demos are done on easy difficulty or with 'cheats' turned on.

Like I said, considering we've seen very little of this game so far, it's good to know at least gameplay/combat is still - at the very least - comparable to the first game.
Fast Ghost of Tsushima clear, for comparison.

Lethal mode was amazing in Tsushima. Incredibly satisfying. Enemies deal more damage but they also recieve more damage. More games should do that

Tsushima on Lethal is pretty difficult until about halfway, where you unlock a bunch of OP shit. Hopefully they nerf it a bit

I don't get it... Why is reloading in slow motion?
It's very unrealistic.
Is this a super hero game?
From the enemies perspective she reloads at an impossible speed.

Continues to look thoroughly... fine and honestly a bit goofy. I'm not really digging the art style changes, Tsushima was more pleasing to look at IMO.

My guess is that quick reload is one of the special powers you spend energy to activate, rather than it being in slow motion every single single time.

Hell yeah, this looks awesome. I noticed at 0:33 that she picks up the enemy's fallen sword and hurls it like a spear at another target where it impales them.

Game is gonna be fun as fuck, just like the first one

Eh....I get it is unrealistic, but wouldn't be very fun to use if it were actual speed. Realism vs video game mechanic. It looks kind of weird though.

By the looks of the enemies pulling out their knife/sword when faced with the musket animation in slo mo, it looks like the character can reload and fire a musket in about 1 to 1.5 seconds if it wasnt slowed down. Maybe 2 seconds tops. But real time it's still about 5 seconds even including the slo mo part.

They probably did that since if they left the entire animation in real time with enemies drawing swords having her do it all in 1 to 1.5 seconds would look incredibly stupid.

It's like the knife fight in V for Vendetta. Looks cool in slo mo.

But if that was done real time, that entire battle would probably be no more than 5 seconds with the masked guy throwing knifes at light speed looking dumb..
