Ghost of Yōtei State of Play gameplay deep dive on Thursday, July 10!

And what makes you think this gonna be any different? Because shes a woman(I guess)?

Jin was a great character. Serious and focused type of character.
Jin is boring. I don't have any proof that the new protagonist will be better, but even Aloy is more interesting than Jin, and that's really saying something because Aloy SUCKS.

I think they'll be able to refine things in the gameplay department that I didn't like from the first title, so I'm hopeful.

Will definitely watch, but my gut is telling me that I will most likely skip this one too... Just like I skipped TLOU2 and GOW:Rag. Too much other good shit to play, plus the following month will be Crimson Desert, which will shit all over this.

Flop franchise. If Ubisoft could animate their combat systems properly, this is exactly what they would've created, minus the mtx flooding, something they'd do as well. Zero interest in following wind currents, following foxes and taking over copy pasted camps. The worst open world experience a video game can offer. Fuck this.

(fuck all you haters who cannot enjoy anything in life)
A lot of the times I feel people on here are more concerned with performatively fighting the culture war than actually enjoying games

I think financially, they will regret the decision of replacing Jin with a strong independent woman that needs no man.
Jin's story is done. We were gonna get a new protagonist either way, if your objection is the new protagonist is a woman, then that's more on you than them

Alright, so what do you consider as the primary activity of the game?

Well so far it's been getting the team together to avenge the kidnapping on Jin's Uncle. I'm about 50% of the way through the game. But I finally got the full party together and now we are planning our revenge attack to get back what's ours.

You're not 50% of your way through the game lol

That's all I'll say

But yes, excellent game, one of the rare games I bothered to Plat, and I've played it three times, once every time it releases on a new system. Hopefully Yotei is as good.

fair enough but people are not forced to buy it so if it flops dont blame gamers for having preferences

I am not talking about the story. It's a open world game, what matters most is what you do as your primary side thing after you're done with the story, or don't feel like progressing through it. There is nothing to do, which is exactly like it is in AssCreed Shadows. Taking over camps is all there is, which is as hollow and brainless as it gets. And i am not surprised that it is like that. The game is aimed at casuals that press the W key and want to do nothing but killing. For me, this is the worst formula for an open world game.

One word answer....................

Am I less or more?

People aren't forced to buy it, but if the reason they don't buy it comes down to "it has a woman protagonist", then that reasoning is super sus, and they will get the reactions they should

There may be several valid reasons to hate it or dislike it; the Ubisoft format may veer thin, the world may not be interesting, or hell, the protagonist herself may be bland or boring as a written character (I.e., not because she is a woman, but because they wrote her badly). Those are valid potential reasons to criticize the game, if they end up being true.

In any case, this is all a moot point, the game won't flop.

You have way more than half left

Didn't finish the first one, the ubisoft style gameplay loop and questing got tiring after a while, so much bloat. Also, how can people create one of the most beautiful looking world but feel empty and soulless at the same time? Shi was baffling.

I thought the first one was incredibly mid, and showed signs of internal development turmoil. I'm really excited to see where they take it with a sequel and clean up the experience.
How so? Not that I'm saying you're wrong, just wondering if you can point to something in particular? I was very disappointed in the static world. It didn't feel alive despite looking gorgeous. And the sidemissions got boring and repetetive quickly.

Crimson Dessert shitting on who? Man stop it, aint nobody even talking about that game, plus they're not even in the same ball park. One games is based on historical events and real locations set in Japan, the other is just another medieval fantasy game built on the Black Dessert online game engine, with an exaggerated particle system.

Not the same engine. Black Desert v Black Space engine.

I agree with you that they've very different games and not comparable, especially since one is only going to be on PS5 at launch, while the other will be on PC and consoles. But at least get your facts straight.

It's a moot point

If a game has no woke, we all win, regardless

No matter who shrills

hBrH0Ou4NcxHNsyi.gif
And who is to decide if it is woke or not? For many, a female sword fighter is woke. For others, a female sword fighter whose tits don't show and/or jiggle is woke. For some others, she needs to, at the very least, look pleasing to the eye. And then there are those who would simply not accept a female protagonist if any action is involved, because there are laws of physics and biology being defied. Which arbitrary line will you choose?
