Huh, this is pretty good incentive to rewatch the show with them. Hopefully they don't give up halfway.

Indeed. As flawed as the show is, it's still one of my favourite TV shows of all time with some downright genius episodes (Through the Looking Glass and The Constant especially). I can totally understand the ending ruining a serialized show like that for a lot of people, but I still love it.

edit: This could easily be GB content, but I guess it's something they want to do on the side. It also seems like Jeff wants to put everything that's not video game related behind a paywall, so that might have something to do with it too.

Not even that could get me to rewatch Lost, the first two or three seasons were pretty great but there is no going back.

also we should take bets on how far they get. At this schedule it will take them 2 and a half years.

I have this playing in the background and I missed the name of the emo metroidvania that has charge-up lock-on attacks and individually hand-painted mushrooms. I'm using the site's player and rewinding is a huge pain

It's that Ori game that showed up in the middle of microsoft's conference.

I thought season 4 was brilliant too. It was the fifth that sounded like a cool idea but really didn't work. I don't even mind the idea of Flocke, actually.

He should do the X-Files next. Sure, that went to shit like Lost, but it least it had more than a couple of good episodes.

X-Files kept the "Monster of the Week" episodes pretty separate from the mythology episodes, unline Lost. So even if the mythology went to shit you can always enjoy the MotW episodes. And those were a majority of the show.

Season 3 of X-Files is one of the greatest achivements of TV as a medium, with Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose being one of the best episodes of TV ever made.

The one thing I love more than LOST is how everybody who watches LOST has an entirely different and very specific opinion on when it stopped being good.

I loved it the whole way through, for all its nonsense.

did someone just call Ori and the Blind Forrest emo? wtf O_o

The podcast is great. I really like the idea of it, 3 fans and one newbie. Really looking forward to what she'll say going forward.

John Drake's story of being given a dead guy's seat in first class remains by favorite bombcast moment of the year. I hope he gets an awesome job.

Lost was pretty great for most of its run. Season 4 was the peak and I enjoyed season 5 even though it was very messy. Season 6 had some great character moments and was shocking a lot of the time, but it was also disappointing in a lot of ways. Especially the third last episode, Across the Sea, which is one of the worst episodes in the series.

Holy shit, that writer's guide that Patrick brought up on the podcast...

THE BIG QUESTION - IS IT SELF-CONTAINED OR SERIALIZED?

Self-contained.
Seriously.
We promise.
Yes - the mysteries surrounding the island may serve an ongoing (and easy to follow) mythology - but every episode has a beginning, middle and end. More importantly, the beginning of the next episode presents an entirely new dilemna to be resolved that requires NO knowledge of the episode(s) that preceded it (except for the rare two-parter).

Yes - character arcs (romances, alliances, grudges) carry over the scope of a season, but the plots will not. Viewers will be able to drop in at any time and be able to follow exactly what's going on in a story context.

This is not lip service - we are absolutely committed to this conceit. LOST can and will be just as accessible on a weekly basis as a traditionally "procedural" drama.

Amazing.

Amazing.

At one point I remember one of the showrunners saying that everything in the show would have a natural explanation. Turns out they didn't plan everything ahead of time!

Anyways, there's too much shirtless Greg Miller on the GB front page right now.

I played that ultimate werewolf game Patrick talked about on a bomb cast forever ago.

It was pretty fun. I wish I remembered his explanation of the rules so I could get a hang of the game faster.
