I've been having a bit of trouble with videos on the site, so I decided to move to downloading them.

I used iTunes with the Premium RSS feeds for this, since it was the simpliest solution but it turns out (much to much shock) that iTunes is a steaming pile for this task, much as it is for any task asked of it.

Anyone have any alternatives I could use?

If you're Windows, Zune is actually quite good for handling videos and podcasts. That was my software of choice for it when i downloaded.

It seems like Jeff hates everything now, unless its Commodore 64 games. This podcast lost a lot when Ryan died, and lost even more when Vinny Left. Brad did a great job hosting the first one that he did but after that it went to shit. He talks about topics way too long, and causes the bombcast to go over 3 hours. He then reads emails and then bitches about the emails he himself chose to read.

It seems like it has to be a prerequisite that you must hate everything mainstream to work for Giant Bomb. The hatred for the Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones is ridiculous. Dan just seems to hate everything just to hate it. Drew loves to yell random things during the podcast, which gets quite annoying as well.

The amount of Dota talk goes on way too long whenever Brad starts to talk about it, the only game he really likes. They need a better structure to keep the Bombcast interesting.

One last thing, please stop saying "Friend of the site" It makes you sound like a pompous name dropping asshole.

I'm pretty sure there were a number of Bombcasts over 3 hours long before Brad started hosting.

I feel I need to add that I'm becoming a big fan of Jason assuming the role of the voice of God during livestreams and quick looks. If we never see him it only adds to His omnipotent vibe.

Dan is great, 9/10 would listen to again.

I do agree the bombcast overall lost quite a lot with both Ryan and Vinny being gone though, not just the bombcast but the site in general really. I know Vinny still does stuff on there, but eh, I miss him with the rest of the crew instead of just Alex.

I can see why Drew's random outbursts might be annoying to some people, but i'm glad he's opened up so much in the last few months. It's a great transformation for the better in my opinion. I don't see how Giantbomb, and its every member, hate everything that is mainstream media. It's easier to criticise than praise, so you usually hear that end of the stick more. Given they play more games than the average member here for their daily jobs, it's easy to see how they could get easily jaded at repetitive AAA titles. There are plenty of people I know who haven't watched LOTR/GoT (me!) or don't like it. Giantbomb isn't a singular case. Since a lot of DOTA events have been occurring in the past few weeks , it makes sense for them to talk about it, but I do wish they cover other events such as EVO (which apparently wasn't possible this year). Also, Brad's only been hosting for a few weeks, give it a bit more time for him to get used to hosting and change up the structure. I do enjoy the longer talks on topics and bombcasts though.
 
I was thinking the other day that with 6 years worth of content in their archive, it's basically impossible for anyone to "catch up" on Giant Bomb from the beginning. Even if you just wanted their greatest hits, it would still be an unreasonable amount of content.

Basically what I'm saying is we'll be explaining running jokes to Dan until the end of time.

Very well written Volotaire. Drew is usually ok and he has started to lay off talk about f-1 racing which is nice.

It was better before, but they can't go back to that due to Ryan's passing and Vinny moving. But Dan seems to love Game of Thrones. Vinny and Drew also like it. Brad read the books and isn't interested in watching the show for some reason, but that's 4/5 who like GoT in some form.

The latter about Vinny could be great for on episode, or if they create another podcast/replace Bombin with the A.M. with new format with Vinny in, so there's only one skyping. I guess that's just part of Jeff personality or he likes fueling the chat. I know I hate things irrationally with no plausible explanation sometimes.

Also, the Corgi barks loud.
