is that Dan cursing up a storm? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaBNmDhSkwk

the guy does not like to lose at anything lol

From the comments (yeah, I know, I read them anyway):

Brad has no idea what he has got on his hands. Joe Juba of Game Informer betrayed Dan and Dan literally spent his entire career there trying to get back at him.
Anyone who followed GI know if this is true? I really want it to be true. The idea of Dan holding office grudges for years over Nintendo games could be a beautiful thing to behold.

I have no followed everything GI, but I know that when Dan was doing a Reply with Joe there was always a rivalry between them. I think there was punching once too, but I do not know how it originated.

I didn't follow Dan's entire tenure at GI, but I distinctly remember some extended conflict between Joe and Dan in the Tail of the Sun Super Replay in which Dan purposefully killed off Hagrid, and in retaliation, Joe forced Ric Flair to drown.

...or something like that.

Dan: Trying to punch you in the Dick

Brad: Let's try to keep it...

Dan: Nope. Right in the Dick!

he does not own a WiiU does he?

All of the editorial staff owns a Wii U. Drew doesn't, no idea about Jason. Dan was saying he is thinking of buying Wii Sports Club, you can't possibly be in that state and not have had a Wii U since launch.

Say what you will about Dan's inexperience with food and TV shows. At least he knows stuff about Bowling and Golf. (watching the Wii Sports Club QL)

The Game Informer Super Relays are exactly what GB should have done with the Endurance Run format.

Also Game Informer has some decent video content. Why didnt I know this before Dan joined GB?

They really have been doing great stuff for years with Replay, but I don't know how someone would find out about it. There are so many classic Super Replays, though. I can't even count how many times I've watched the Cyberia ones :P

It's actually kind of unfortunate that it's tied to a magazine, which I'm guessing is part of why Dan left for Giant Bomb. Replay seemed to be his favorite thing about GI, and Giant Bomb is basically that without also having to put out a magazine every month.

Yeah, they have some good stuff.

Here is Dan playing Mount Your Friends for the first time, and Jason doing a great hosting job...

Kinda makes me sad Jason is still solely a behind the scenes guy on GB :/

I've raved about it quite a few times, and others raving about it in this thread got me into it.

Seriously, my favorite part about Dan joining GB has been that it led me to check out a bunch of GI's older videos. There's some great content in there.

Are any of the quick looks/other videos this week particularly notable? Bit behind on my giantbomb content although I did catch the Velvet Sundown one.

Mario Party Party is fantastic.

Velvet Sundown is a genuinely cool looking game, and the video for it is hilarious.

I don't know if you saw the TMNT quick look but it's short and good.

Also, Dan started a WoW playthrough that wasn't terribly interesting for me (I haven't played MMO's) but it's the start of a month long video series so you may want to hop in it.

I've been thinking about dropping the $50 on the year membership. It's worth it right?

There has been a lot of great content lately.

That in mind, there are semi-regularly $35 membership sales (without the free tshirt) so you might want to see if one of those comes around.

Yup, Wii Sports Club QL is great. Enjoying the laid back Brad x Dan dynamic a lot.

I think what I appreciate most about Dan is that he'll always try and keep the other person engaged, even if the question isn't game related.

Previously, a lot of the time would just be silence while one person played the game and the other person tried to think of something relevant to ask.

Never been a premium member before? It's more than worth it.

Yes, support Giantbomb if you enjoy it imo. They introduced the premium membership for a reason. Ad clicks weren't enough. Unless you wanna see GB gutted like GS, support them! At bare minimum, I get 2-3 hours of enjoyment a week from the podcast. Less than a dollar a week. With Dan's energy and antics, it's a no brainer.

Pretty sure everyone is doing that these days. It was a thing before the Endurance Run, though not with most game news sites.

Sure, I wasn't suggesting that Polygon are copying - more that they are doing what GB will not. Giving the fans what they want,
Arthur Gies
. Not sure how often they are doing it though. I guess if it is not daily then GB have also done similar with Dark Souls etc.

They've done a shit ton of "endurance runs" already. It's just not daily.

Some GB fans are crazy :P

Yeah, for the enjoyment I get out of GB every year, it's the best investment I've done.
